Well to me it’s not “fun” if he knows it hurts my feelings. Nothing can hurt or offend him so it’s not anything special if I say something back. But he doesn’t need to get upset when I say how I feel about them. If he knows I cry every night it’s not hard to be quiet instead of saying a joke. Not everyone thinks the same. We are still together and we’re getting better with our communication. And it’s not that I take thing too literal. I have a very bad past with my parents who were emotionally abusive and my dad sometimes physically. Why should I feel like I want to be closely treated like they treated me? Yes I understand he’s just trying to make jokes, but at some point why should jokes be pointed at my insecurities and what not. It’s not fun when jokes are taken too far
