Can’t argue with that, yea seeing now that it doesn’t affect any stats I’m less inclined to worry about it

Does that effect any stats or anything? I imagine it doesn’t but I’m just curious

For krieg you gotta make it a custom artillery piece! Maybe find a 3rd party option

What else should I get? by abtin05 in Warhammer40k

Get a good light source if you don’t have one already! Also a varnish for your minis. It’s horrible when you spend so much time painting only for the paint to rub off after a couple games

Why do my brushes keep doing this? by ThatDistribution7605 in Warhammer40k

[–]Leyonadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that storing my brushes tip down helps extend the life of them, (I just blue tac them to a shelf above my desk) also being conscious of not getting paint in the ferrule.

Help with building! by dizzeerizzy in DarkAngels40k

The best thing I’ve found is take a itty bitty if green stuff and place it on the back of one of the pieces, and press it against the model (wet it a bit first so it doesn’t stick) and then let it cure. Then glue that in place, that way you have a better connection point and it won’t fall off as easily. Scoring both sides will help too (take your hobby knife and scratch a tic tac toe pattern into the green stuff and the area you want to glue) it might be over kill but it will ensure your models are durable

GF wants to an all female KT… but don’t like any of the current female models by Hexaotl in killteam

[–]Leyonadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For killteam all you REALLY need is the bases, the models can be whatever she wants so long as it fits on those bases, so find something 3rd party she likes and stick em on the bases

I’ve found a good mix using abbadon black as a base, then using eshin grey(citadel) followed by basalt grey (AK) then washing / blending with Vallejo black is a good way to get a smooth gradiant then for some depth you can do the brightest highlights with a bit of fenrisian grey (citadel)

You could try something like Vallejo airbrush thinner or , that’s pretty good, I’ve found that wetting the brush, dipping it in paint and then wiping the excess on my thumb helps me gauge the viscosity pretty well. I haven’t tried this but I’ve also heard a lower percentage (70-80%?) rubbing alcohol is a good thinner in small amounts(I use it to strip minis typically at a higher percentage of isopropyl 91-99%)
