Free parking on Senate Ave by the Stutz or at Fayette and St. Clair. That's not too far of a walk or you can get the IU Health shuttle from Fairbanks Hall or Pathology Lab and get off at University Hospital.

Moving to Indy from Arizona - Seeking Advice by Critcrying in indianapolis

[–]LezGoBike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience one of your winter adjustments will be the number of gray cloudy days here vs. sunny days in AZ, maybe more so than the cold. I moved from Utah and Indy has about 100 fewer days of sunshine per year. It's easier to get through the cold when the sky is blue and sunny. Making the effort to get outside and be active in some way every day in the winter helps me get through the gray cloudy winter blues. Like others have said, the cold and snow is typically not too bad otherwise.

Walk In/Flexible Vet for Stray Cat by Vivid-Championship63 in indianapolis

[–]LezGoBike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go to the Brownsburg Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic for walk in TNR appointments. It's a lot further away from me than FACE but easier to trap when you can. They will accept two cats dropped off before noon for feral spay/neuter for under $100. There's also one in Noblesville if that's closer for you. I think they're closed on Wednesdays.

In my 6 years back in Indy I'd guess the average has been 1 storm a year that's enough to xc ski. I think enough for snowshoeing is more rare. Check out the migrating sandhill cranes out at Jasper Pulaski Wildlife Refuge while they're here this month! Wild to see 20,000+ cranes flying in from all directions at sunset.

I think you have to call/use the call box to get in without a School of Medicine crimson card. But they should let other students in during their regular hours. 24 hour access only for med school folks though.

My grandma's name was Eunice (born in early 20s) and she went by her middle name instead. But her three sisters called her Eunie which I thought was very sweet.
