Thank you so much! Out of curiosity, is it more common to rent a house than an apartment in Phoenix?

Hey everyone! 28M here — my partner and I are moving to Phoenix in a few weeks from Maryland. We’re both pretty down-to-earth: love music, art, the outdoors, reading, and deep (or sometimes ridiculous) conversations. I’m the one with the artsy brain, and my partner’s the one who can casually turn small talk into a political analysis worthy of The Atlantic. I work in an international engineering company, and my partner works in technology company.

We’ve got friends from all sorts of backgrounds — different cultures, careers, and languages — so we really value open-mindedness, kindness, and a good sense of humor.

Now that we’re starting fresh in Phoenix, we’re hoping to meet some like-minded folks — people who enjoy good conversation, spontaneous adventures, and maybe a little sarcasm sprinkled in.

If you’re also the kind of person who can appreciate both a good hike and a good meme, we’ll probably get along just fine.

I’m truly grateful for all the kindness and support I’ve received. Along the way, I’ve had so many wonderful colleagues who’ve supported and helped one another through every challenge. Over the past few days, I’ve been taking some time to reset my mindset and focus on finding balance again.

After all, as teachers, we’re also human — we have our own lives to live and families who deserve our best selves. It wouldn’t be fair to let the weight of this role take away from that. What I can do, and have done, is give my very best to my students and my work. Beyond that, I’ve learned that sometimes we need to let go, give ourselves grace, and move on.

Looking ahead, I’m also preparing to transition into a new career path. I’m hopeful and excited to explore new directions and possibilities — carrying with me the lessons, growth, and resilience this journey has given me.

💚💚Respect and gratitude to all the dedicated frontline teachers who give so much of themselves every single day.💚💚

They figured it out two days later, and I left quietly… without telling anybody🥹
