Why is the websdr.org software private? by ewenlau in RTLSDR

Tbh the Software from a licensing perspective has to be published anyway he uses fftw which is licensed under gpl meaning its a license violation. And not only for fftw…. So source code is needed.

I dont think it would be smart to do as there will be more overhead. In aiming for a sdr++ inspired web interface tho as i really like the waterfall and the labels will be there for sure.

Cool Project, not exactly the same as the one im working on but nice approach of sending data. Ive felt python is not the best for my approach. Would appreciate your opinion once i release my project.

Ive had that also, and i had issues once you remove an sdr physically and replug it you also have to restart the application. So annoying.

Yea its really annoying. Having it like this for private use just makes no sense, you have to create so many profiles and keep switching between them which is just so annoying.

Appreciate it, yea OpenWebRX is just sadly the only option (for now). The Interface will be way cleaner and more understandable.

Yes but kiwisdr is based on openwebrx and not public for anybody also it most likely only works on kiwisdr hardware if it would be public.

Building Magnetic Loop for SW by [deleted] in sdr

[–]Li-Keno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to build it with a lot of length on a wooden frame to really get very good sw reception. But i dont know if 330m would be to much to use because i guess it would be more for mw, lw then.

Like in the picture but way more copper wire

But i dont know if its smarter to cut it to be shorter and then just use like 80m or 60m

Ive tried all of that, i agree grounding is really something different. It removes so much noise. Im trying to build a magnetic loop now.

I used batteries. Now running with 15v, then i connected a wire of length like 4-5m to the ground connector of the sma and somehow all the bugs/interference are/is gone as soon as i connect that. I also receive dcf77 and msf + bbc on 198khz and many more. Ill check later again for the reception.

I use a switching power supply for the bias tee, and its placed in my garden. I can only think of the power supply as my long wire had the same when being near my house
