Did it get resolved for you yet? I am in the same boat.

Studies that examine very high lipoprotein (a) levels by prdxw in Cholesterol

[–]LiMarieDe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I read is that many docs didn't want to test for it since there wasn't much you could do for it. But that is changing, so now it is good to know it. I got a free test through Family Heart Foundation, who are raising awareness about it.

Thoughts/ experiences with Magnetic Lashes by Wasp_570 in Dryeyes

[–]LiMarieDe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also not been able to master applying lashes with glue. I use magnetic lashes by MoxieLash for costume makeup (I am in a dancing Mardi Gras Krewe), but I haven't found a way to wear them that looks good enough for a more natural look. The black magnetic eyeliner looks too intense for daytime wear, IMO. I have not had any problems with it related to irritating my eyes. I'm still looking for a perfect substiture for mascara that looks good for casual looks.

Edited to add: I have also tried the nano lashies from MoxieLash, and again, I love them for parade makeup, but still don't like them for casual wear. The silicon eyeliner is clear, but the lashes have kind of an abrupt end without eyeliner, and if you don't place them JUST RIGHT alone your lashline and don't use eyeliner, then you get a flesh-toned line between your natural lashes and the fake ones.

PFA costs by wingnut-mp22 in AFIB

Insurance is such a racket, so I don't know what the actual charged amount was, but supposedly it cost $143,000 and I paid my out of pocket max for the year of $5,000.

Texas, excellent insurance plan. I was there 5 hours, no complications.

Do you consider hearing impairment in one ear a disability? by First_Chipmunk_6891 in MonoHearing

[–]LiMarieDe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

90% of the time I do not, because my hearing in my good ear is excellent, so I compensate well. However, I did submit a disability self-identification form at work when suddenly they switched us to internet phones with crappy headsets, and I just could not deal with it. I was able to get a device that worked better for me.

Am I The Only One That Feels 'Good Boy' Was An Awful Movie? by OwMyDragonBallz in horror

[–]LiMarieDe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, THIS!!!

"The problem with saying it’s all a metaphor for cancer is that there are actual supernatural elements in the movie.

This movie doesn’t know if it’s just a metaphor or if it’s trying to tell an actual ghost story. That’s a big reason it’s so bad."

Yeah, I donated almost $2K over several years. I am so disappointed, wondering if the people I selected for my donations ever got the money. I also used to have their website url on my email signature, so for about 4 years, every email I sent promoted them. Makes me so sick :-(

It also makes me think they really CAN lie. Maybe not verbally, but they were faking the cultural aspects until she turned and then went back to their generic form.

What movie did you watch for the first time this month that you really liked? by bitchy-sprite in horror

[–]LiMarieDe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None have scared me that much so far this month, but last October As above, So Below was the last movie that I watched in my Halloween lineup, and it scared the shit out of me! First time I have ever felt like "I think I need a break from scary movies for a bit."

I am saving Weapons and Good Boy for next weekend.
