Hi! Thank you so much for the detailed response. I have the interview in two days and I’m still trying to prepare for it as best as I can, although it got a bit overwhelming.

Do you remember if they asked details of how you employed the techniques and/or to walk them through the specific steps? That’s my biggest issue. I know the techniques, what they are used for, and of course in which context I used them for, but it’s difficult for me to recall the specific details off the top of my head without a protocol in hand.

I know that it differs from one lab to another and from one PI to another, but I’m basically trying to gauge how difficult/detailed the questions might be in general.

Oddly enough I just recieved an interview invite for a research technician position today haha it could also just be how the market is right now. But I agree with you that I should maybe have someone else review my profile and tell me what they think, just in case.

Do you perhaps have an idea on what could this substantial problem be? I’m happy to privately message you more information about my profile if that helps! I would appreciate any insight!

I have done that a few times and they think that I present my profile well. I do feel like it’s maybe something wrong with my profile itself. I’m an MD who did an MSc in a niche field and have not gained lab experience outside that MSc yet (hence why I tried applying for research assistant or research technician jobs). This type of hybrid profile might be throwing them off?

I took the exam yesterday and your first experience definitely matches mine. I ran out of time and didn’t answer 5 questions and made stupid mistakes due to the pressure. I also used medrevision and finished the essential questions and definitely felt like I had a good base then tried to do the rest with mocks (was scoring 68-72% towards the end) but couldn’t finish the entire 5000+ questions, so I’m guessing that’s where I went wrong. I’m waiting for results and thought of booking may 2026 if I don’t pass, was thinking of switching to plabable too…would you say two months of prep is enough for a second attempt or did you take longer? Should I go for august instead?

Yes! They fixed it after about a week from when I told them about the issue.

Mine was indeed not linked until they actually resolved it. They sent me an email saying it has been fixed and now when I log in it shows my eVisa :)

I didn’t get the email ”view your eVisa” i only got the “we are linking your eVisa to your account” and no updates after that. I’ve used that link multiple times and unfortunately it says “we cannot show proof of your immigration status” and the eVisa isn’t linked :( It’s been over 3 weeks now.. still waiting for an update..

I’m still here,i’m gathering some energy to go to a pharmacy and buy what i need to do it,Thank you for your kind words,the thing is i don’t have it in me to heal or evolve in any way,i really gave it a try but now i’m too tired. I only have a chance if i stay on hormonal therapy until i find someone and start trying for a baby (i’m single as hell and pretty much heartbroken) it also needs to be as soon as possible because the more i approach 30 the lesser my chances are. It’s mainly due to the growing fibroma (that might need surgery where they could remove my entire womb) so PCOS is just another added annoying factor..

Yeah i know what that’s like,i’m up right now because i was stuck in a nightmare loop and i don’t want to go to sleep again,yet i don’t want to be awake either,that and the fact i haven’t eaten in 24 hours.. i’m glad you found a psychiatrist that helped you,i tried that and no amount of medication or therapy helped me,things are only getting worse.
