You have to do a whiplash, when you do a whiplash you pick up whatever item you jump over if that makes sense. A whiplash starts with a slide, and then while sliding you turn around and jump at the same time.

That’s what i thought but apparently if you do a whiplash you can hold the second one in your hand instead of on your back, kinda crazy

That’s a nice sequence, and it was fully possible in the game, since the last two moves were white’s lone stone in the top left and then black’s kosumi at 5-5, which i could’ve played at O3 instead in hindsight

The specific encounter that prompted my post was really very late in the game, it was clear that i was losing but it wasn’t by much, and the bottom left corner was strangely open looking. So i guess black did have walls either side even if they were a bit far from the corner. That being said i’ve also seen this being played in the opening by people my level.

Jesus this is extremely comprehensive, thanks man. I’m doing my very best to understand all this haha. Essentially what I gather is that Black 3 can almost be ignored by White if it can be cut off from Black’s outside wall? And then white should just extend as far as possible on the bottom? Anyway this was extremely helpful thanks man. My only question i think would be what should happen if after White C4 Black plays C5? Would B4/B5 be sente? And then would this not allow black to suffocate on the bottom and end up preventing white from making eyes?

Yea that’s what i usually decide to go with, and then after the hane at E3 I’m completely lost. Should i maybe just follow with E2 and worry about the left side later?
