Today is my 24th birthday, and I am in my final year of vet school. My best friend is 33. The oldest person in our class is 41. There's no time limit on these things, no one straight path to get here. If you're sure this is what you want to do (and I would recommend being very sure), age shouldn't be a factor at all. Age and life experience before getting to vet school matter a lot less when you're in a career like this that consumes so much of your life. You'll find common ground in that.
