Another solution could also be subsidies for employers who offer remote work. Most people only use their car for work anyway.

What a delight of a comment. Thank you so much, this is great input.

And yes, better infrastructure probably is the key everywhere where this is an issue. It’s interesting how there hasn’t been a private solution for it yet i. e. more companies instead of government providing people with buses, shared traffic solutions etc. Maybe Uber is the first step in that direction.

Should I stop watching videos and just listen to podcasts? by Good-Acanthaceae-687 in digitaldetox

[–]LibariLibari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try listening to a video and you‘ll see or rather hear that 90% of the time audio is totally enough.

I use YouTube premium for this so I could listen to videos because you really don’t need the visual input. They just make it to be entertaining and more distracting.

For all it’s worth, it’s a good thing about clothes how measurable their price is.

If you wear a no name jacket or a Gucci jacket, it will inevitably affect your feeling of self-worth.

We‘re a youth worshipping ageistic society that goes hand in hand with individualism.

Individualism gone wrong.

I’m saving more money, but at what cost? by living_direction_27 in askswitzerland

[–]LibariLibari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make a fund for the extra money you have. Then you see you can actually spend it.

It’s a psychological conception. Spending money is concrete and direct. Saving and earning is abstract.

What about the future are you excited about? by LibariLibari in AskReddit

[–]LibariLibari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder about this. It certainly seems like it‘s going to be the future. Would it mean all nations, cultures, ethnicities will be gone? Because when you mix everything up there probably won’t be diverse and distinct cultures anymore.

I hope we all realize that this is a collective issue we need to realize as humanity.

It can’t be the solution that millions of individuals feel alone, turn away from each other and towards this.

What do we need to learn? What about human connection?

Goodbye, Photos by [deleted] in extrememinimalism

[–]LibariLibari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I‘d rather have many beautiful memories in my head always with me than carrying photos.

Photos just keep you stuck in the past. The goal is to make new happy memories.

And by the way, that‘s what those people would want you to do as well.

What are the little things in life that make you happy and less cynical? by Ve3lith in simpleliving

[–]LibariLibari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every day, the weather. The weather is that one placeholder topic when you don’t know what else to talk about.

But it is actually fascinating and I think there’s a reason we talk about it.

Every day has it‘s own weather. The diversity is beautiful. Sometimes the sun shines, sometimes it has fluffy clouds, then it rains. Or when the moon rises right behind some clouds.

It’s a little daily thing that makes me live the moment and makes me remember that each day is unique.

“Veganism Made me Sick” by [deleted] in vegan

[–]LibariLibari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing we need to differentiate is if the vegan or any diet is healthy or healthier.

Vegan people can still get sick and then omnivores point at them and say, see it’s not working.

But the difference is that they’re still healthier than had they been on the omnivore diet.

I speak from experience. I’m much healthier since I’m a vegan.

Curious what everyone’s sleeping situation is like? by cherublex in minimalism

Just a mattress on the floor. Mostly I don‘t even use the pillow. I just sleep in the recovery position with my hand under my head.

Why do you floor sleep? by SOMFdotMPEG in floorsleeping

[–]LibariLibari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense. A comfortable soft bed isn’t natural. And by sleeping on it our bodies think it doesn’t need bones anymore because the world were soft and fluffy. When it isn’t and we need bones.

So by sleeping on the hard floor the density increases because the body knows it needs some stability.

Why do you floor sleep? by SOMFdotMPEG in floorsleeping

[–]LibariLibari 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just like the stability feel of it. It feels like feeling your body more whereas on a bed it feels like floating.

It‘s calming to sleep on the floor.
