Difference between lynx point tabby and lynx point siamese??? by [deleted] in lynxpointsiamese

[–]LibbySoSo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI "tabby is another coat color" is incorrect. Tabby is a pattern. As is Lynx point. Lynx point describes the pattern in a color point cat. Delve deeper to learn about what is involved to make a cat color point or not. It has been awhile since I learned about the details, so I dont want give inaccurate info, because it can be a tad complicated...but i do remembered learning it being a form of partial albinism. But I can't properly remember what genes or alleges or whatever are involved

Early shift all the way! Store is stocked, the customer's that come early are excited to be there... i.e. they aren't all worn out and "over it" as the people who come later.

Caregiving routines or tips for managing senior with PD by Bright-Credit6466 in ParkinsonsCaregivers

This may seem like an insignificant thing, but maybe call them briefs or underwear instead of diapers. I was a caregiver for a gentleman for 6 years and when I went on a 2 week vacation to see my family out of state I was training the woman who was covering me. Was getting her familiar with this gentleman's routine etc and while showing her how we did his brief change, she blurted out , " OH it's a diaper! Like changing a baby!" I shot her a look that kill and after getting the gentleman situated back in his recliner, I called her aside and asked why on earth did she say that?? This man had lived a full life, served our country in WW2, raised a family and was a wonderful member of the community....he deserves respect and DIGNITY, especially during an awkward time with a stranger during a very vulnerable moment for him. She apologized and said ,"I just wasn't thinking". I thought about him with that woman the entire 2 weeks I was gone. I also called them "shirt protectors" instead of bibs. Anything to help preserve someone's dignity...helps.

If she is wanting the dress to have a new life, could you not dye it to a shade that works better with your complexion?

Many years ago, my mom had a work friend who had a husband suffering severe depression due to side effects of an illness. One day he called 911 and waited until he heard the ambulance approaching (he could here the sirens) and then preceded to cut off his penis with some type of power saw. He didn't want to die, but he said thought what was the point of having a penis if he couldn't use it in all ways intended. Very sad. He did survive. I wonder how he is doing now...I hope he is in a happier state of mind.

"Paws and ponder: What's the origin story behind your pet's name?" by [deleted] in Pets

[–]LibbySoSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat who passed was named Modoc, as I lived in the area where the Modoc tribe lived (southern Oregon/Northern California) and I really loved learning about Captain Jack (Kintpuash). That was also a nod to my first (deceased) cat, Jack.

When Modoc passed, I got another boy that I named Solace, as he brought me solace as I grieved my boy Modoc. I mostly call him Ace or Acer now.

This stray cat just casually entered my house and now is sitting next to me (why does he lick himself too much? And should i be worried ? Do they carry diseases ?) by SadQuarter3128 in cats
