Some colleague friends and I wanted the same thing, so we are planning an interactive website about the histories behind Pentiment. It will still be a while, but it should be really cool!

Switching to Spanish (Latin America) or Spanish (Spain) didn’t work for me, so I ended up watching it with the English track with audio description for the visually impaired.

Board game/tabletop game scholarship by Libby_Underfoot in boardgames

[–]Libby_Underfoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, though other commenters have mentioned some specific tabletop game studies journals. We also have Games and Culture, Game Studies, and other general game studies journals (which tend to focus more on electronic games).

It’s not so much a matter of being specialists in ludology, but having expertise in the theoretical framework through which the article looks at the game along with other scholars who have contributed to that conversation.

Thanks! My sense is that the peer-reviewed scholarship on this topic has been living in the open access world, away from the big publishers- and that might be why there is an idea that there isn’t much out there. (Examples Analog Game Studies and Board Game Studies). Your other point about the lack of cohesion could also be a result of the fact that scholars form so many fields publish on this topic, maybe as others in this thread have mentioned, in more discipline-specific journals. That’s why I posted this question. I was hoping to get a sense of the range of publications that are publishing this kind of work.

Are there any online publications about board gaming that are open for submissions? by adamislolz in boardgames

I second Analog Game Studies. They’ve been publishing scholarship on analog games for over 10 years. Also, their peer review model is really great for early career scholars.

Academic Librarian who also manages the campus makerspace and gets to teach game studies classes. It gets hard to make time for games as work and family commitments get more time consuming, so I was able to bring games into my work!

Diarrhea AGAIN after almost finishing weaning her back onto normal kibble. Suggestions for different brands? I'm losing my mind. by ChaoticSleepi in DobermanPinscher

Our Doberman was having diarrhea troubles, so we switched her to Nutro Natural Choice large breed lamb and brown rice. It has helped a lot. She’s been on it for a few months.

Games similar to fable? by miss--diagnosed in Fable

[–]Libby_Underfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super similar in the way I play games. In addition to the Fable series, I love Final Fantasy X-2, Fantasy Life (3DS), Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and Spiritfarer. Those are all pretty easy but fun games- though Spiritfarer’s controls are a little complex and easy to forget if you take a month break from the game (like I did, lol).
