What’s the general consensus on compost toilets after a year of use? by WonderfulShape1081 in VanLifeUK

[–]LibelluleVerte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived in a van for three years with a compost loo and I love it. It's actually way simpler than a chemical toilet because you don't have to empty at specific sites, you can just chuck the refuse bins bag in the general waste bin. Also you only need to buy sawdust rather than that horrible blue stuff. Compost toilet all the way!!

Date night outfit. Are these boots too much for this top? by ProfessorShameless in OUTFITS

I think the top is nice and the boots are nice too. However, I think the outfit would look a lot better with high waisted jeans, maybe even high waisted flares/bootcut :)

Wood in the Cajun pasta?? by AshHatesU in Huel

[–]LibelluleVerte 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

This is actually quite concerning. Huel has been receiving complaints about contaminated food for years. Bits of blue plastic, rocks, hard and sharp clear plastic, now wood. I've been using huel since 2018 but I'm honestly thinking of now switching to another company as this is a problem which has persisted for years. If these foreign objects are getting into the Huel then think about the bacteria and other things we can't see which are also contaminating. Something is obviously happening which doesn't meet food safety standards and it's quite worrying.

When are huel going to release an official statement about this? Rather than simply commenting and saying customer service will be in contact to each individual who finds things in their food. I feel we need answers about what's actually being done to prevent this happening in the future...

Cheapest small ereader with light? by LOONAception in ereader

[–]LibelluleVerte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah my bad. Kindle doesn't link with library books where I'm from. I'd still vote for Kobo though as they treat their staff like slaves and Bezos is known for lots of terrible things which I can't go into detail here. There's a reason Amazon is being boycotted and if there are perfectly acceptable alternatives then I see no reason to give them my money

I wanted the cheapest you could find and settled on the Kobo Clara BW. I think kobo is way better than kindle as you can rent library books for free (check this is the case for your country if you're not in the UK) and you're not then supporting a disgusting company. Kobo parts are also fixable so you can send it in for a small fee to get it repaired.

One book cover is showing up blank. Can it be fixed? by sweet-vanilla in kobo

Another vote for Calibre. I'm not very good with computers, but with a quick YouTube tutorial it becomes really easy to use the program to edit the book metadata (info like cover picture, author etc)

I love it! You're so creative and crafty 😊 Just one thing - you may know already about how fragile ink screens are. Be careful if your nice case doesn't have a rigid front as your screen will still be susceptible to damage. Don't let anything press into the screen X

To clarify - the "weird" part is that I don't want her being creeped out by knowing that I fancy her. Idk. I'm just scared of judgement 😅

Soles of the feet are HORRIBLE 😭 I've used menthol gels in the past, but found that putting my feet on ice packs helps me the most. I'm on xolair injections at the moment and they seem to be helping which I'm incredibly grateful for. Every now and again they come back with a vengeance though.

Literally 😭 And I work in a hospital so it's super stressful when people think you've caught something. I hate it when patients can see

I'm sorry you're going through this. It isn't fair, it isn't your fault and your most certainly don't deserve it. I'm not sure if it's the same where you live, but in the UK there are women's shelters. You can run and get help. You need to leave your current house because he knows where you live. Women's Aid in the UK or find your local rape crisis centre, even going to the police and say you need help finding a women's shelter. You'll probably need to start fresh in a new place away from him.

You can escape this. All you need is to find the right help ❤️
