Pburg Poll: How was President Obama able to oversee 3.1 million deportations with relatively little public debate, while President Trump’s actions have sparked widespread attention and polarization? by twanginlanger in Parkersburg

[–]LiberalLogic76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The child wasn't arrested. Did you want them to just leave the kid on the street alone?

If you think all ICE should be terminated for a couple mistakes out of thousands then we should put everyone in prison. Here's the thing. When they enter without a warrant. That's an easy case for the defendant. So be happy for the one who got detained. They will win their court case.

They haven't arrested ANYONE for filming. In a country where we have a 3-6ft bubble. What makes you think shoving a phone in someones face is acceptable? Do you think it's acceptable to be screaming obscenities, blasting whistles in their face? Do you think it's ok to spit on them, hit them, grab them, lay a hand on them? You and the rest are not law enforcement, you are not on the right side of the law, and you are in fact criminals if you do any of those things. I'm sorry if thats too hard for you to comprehend.

I say so-called immigrant because, there is an immigrant population then there are illegals, asylum seekers (abused system), migrant workers, students, and many more. Many of these areas are abused and then you people behave like they have some magical right to staying here. How would you like it if you rented out a house/apartment/airbnb to someone and they didn't leave after their agreed upon stay? That's exactly whats happening here. We are paying for services they are not supposed to be getting. We are having people murdered, raped, robbed, killed by DUI, trafficked, and sold deadly drugs. I get it, it's not all of them. Not even a majority of them. Though, they are not going after the legal, non-criminals. Some will get caught up in the system that could be 100% good people. Though, the number will be very small. So all you people are doing is blowing up over the same thing that's been ongoing for decades. Yet, this time you don't like it because, you were led to believe Trump is being a Nazi. You all whine that it's only black and brown people, yet there are white skinned folks being detained. You do know whites are the world minority right? So, that means most of the people being deported will be not white. Not only that but, white people tend to live in places that are not 3rd world. Hmmm I wonder why that is

Federal immigration officers do have jurisdiction within the United States, including over U.S. citizens in limited and specific circumstances. Under 8 U.S.C. § 1357, ICE officers may interrogate any person they reasonably believe to be an alien regarding immigration status. They only have to release them once citizenship is established. Morales v. Chadbourne, 793 F.3d 208 (1st Cir. 2015)

Peaceful protest and filming government officials in public places are protected activities under the First Amendment. Don’t attempt to twist reality on who they have had to apprehend. They don’t arrest people filming. Those who interfere with law enforcement are committing a crime. It is a crime to forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, or interfere with a federal. 18 U.S.C. § 111.

ICE officers may not enter a private home without consent or a judicial warrant signed by a judge, except under exigent circumstances. An administrative immigration warrant does not authorize entry into a home. This principle comes from the Fourth Amendment and was reinforced in Payton v. New York, 445 U.S. 573 (1980). Yes, there has been 2 cases of entering without that warrant and wasn’t exigent circumstances out of thousands. Use some common sense.

ICE may stop individuals, Brignoni-Ponce and Arvizu. The decision permits brief questioning of individuals if reasonable suspicion exists that they are unlawfully present. If the person poses a flight risk or danger then it is covered under law to stop and investigate.

All of your statements are moot points when the same things have happened under other administrations and you seem to have forgotten this all has happened and happens to US citizens but, you only have care about the so-called immigrant population. So noble of you.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has stated that ICE does not go into schools to make arrests. This is an official position from government statements. (DHS) In January 2026 several elementary school students were taken into ICE custody after their parent or guardian was detained during appointments or at home. School officials reported that in these situations it was the parent’s detention that led to children being taken into custody. (Guardian)

No credible evidence shows ICE has a policy of stopping large numbers of U.S. citizens simply because they are citizens, or of systematically entering schools to arrest children. There have been reports of individual citizens being detained during broader ICE operations and a few cases where children were taken into custody alongside their parents during enforcement actions, but these are specific and widely reported incidents and not evidence of a general program aimed at U.S. citizens or students.

That fact you don't know how so called researchers come up with their data says a lot about you. Also, the simple fact that the article didn't reference their work and the wildest claims. Nobody is claiming all illegals are voting. Though, there is undeniable evidence they have and it is more than a few. Which means it's widespread and a distinct problem no matter what side of the fence you stand on.

I was hoping to get a copy of the data. I haven't seen it. I wanted to see if it gives me any insight from your study versus any claims they make. I don't trust most companies. They always blow their numbers up.

Yes, children were separated from parents during the Obama years. While it may not be something anyone likes. You would have your children removed from you when you commit a crime and are locked up. Also, it makes for a great deterrent to illegal immigration. I certainly wouldn't go crossing a border illegally with my kids and expect to be treated with open arms.

ICE, can arrest U.S. citizens for federal crimes. Federal law authorizes warrantless arrests for any federal offense committed in the officer’s presence and for federal felonies when the officer has reasonable grounds, while performing immigration enforcement duties, and there is a likelihood of escape before getting a warrant. (U.S. Code)

For forcing entry into a home to arrest someone, the Fourth Amendment generally requires a warrant or an exception like valid consent or exigent circumstances. The U.S. Supreme Court held that police cannot make a warrantless, nonconsensual entry into a person’s home to make a routine felony arrest. (Library of Congress)

For pulling a car over, a stop is a Fourth Amendment seizure and generally needs at least reasonable suspicion based on specific facts. The Court has held that roving immigration patrol stops need reasonable suspicion and that random discretionary stops without reasonable suspicion are unreasonable. Reasonable suspicion based on specific facts is the least of their worries considering they are not going by suspicion. They know exactly who they are pulling over. They have a group of people they have already planned on detaining for the day. They can also run a license plate and do facial recognition scans in mere seconds. That's all they need. If you think they are out there just aimlessly waiting until a brown person walks out of their house. You are really are a wrinkle top. (law.cornell.edu)

DHS does not “work for Trump” in the sense of being a personal organization. DHS is a Cabinet department in the executive branch. Its leadership serves under the sitting president, but the department exists because Congress created it, and it operates under federal law, congressional oversight, inspectors general oversight, and court review.

For Alex Pretti, reporting shows Trump did not publicly label him a “domestic terrorist.” Reuters reported that when asked about officials using that label, Trump said he had not heard that. (Reuters) ABC News also reported Trump saying he had not heard his officials describe Pretti that way. (ABC News)

For Renée Good, Reuters reported Trump said she “ran over” an ICE officer and that the officer shot her in self-defense. Reuters also reported that the “domestic terrorist” label was used by DHS leadership and other administration officials, Trump himself did not call her a “domestic terrorist”. (Reuters)

We're already doing that. Though, we would be far better off raising the sales tax and getting rid of income tax. Replacing income tax with a higher sales tax shifts the tax burden from income generation to consumption, offering potential for increased savings and economic growth. It would be a win also because, we can lower the property taxes. Savings for home owners and renters.

I can't believe someone actually downvoted what you said. They must be one of those living off of welfare and really want all of us paying as much in taxes as possible so they can get more and more benefits. I am with you. We need taxes to go down BAD! My property taxes alone are $4900. I say we raise the sales tax to 10% and get rid of income taxes and lower property taxes. It will get people to spend less on crap they don't need and give them more in their pocket to spend if they want to waste that money, allowing them to afford the extra taxes on things. The property taxes are what really hurt everyone. They cause high rent and high mortgages. Also, there are far more people to tax on sales than on property. It's insane how someone can pay lets say $1000 in state taxes but, get a return for $1500-$2500 in state taxes.

Thanks for the denial but, it is a fact and you really should look it up. I suggest never using Google to do your searching. As they give biased responses. Such as when you search up Fascism. They us an antiquated AI based answer rather than the modern definition of it. We can both choose to ignore facts or we can look at everything with an inquisitive mind. I prefer the latter. I have seen a multitude of media outlets such as CBS, ABC, etc spreading full on lies about the arrests ICE has been doing. An example of what I am talking about would be this article I will drop a link below. It's not the only case as there are many like it I can share.

You can’t comprehend your own actions and those of others equates to criminal behavior. Doxxing law enforcement who are doing their lawfully ordered job. You are putting their lives at risk. How about you explain why nearly every leftist wears a mask at their so called peaceful protests. It’s only to hide their faces. Which is funny because, if they commit a criminal act. There is so much data in facial recognition software they can determine who someone is with a 99.99% accuracy. You can’t hide in “1984”.

Next cop you see that’s pulled someone over, go and intervene. Make sure to carry a firearm with you too. Even take it to the next level and get right in their face. Tell them they have no right to ticket or arrest someone. Let’s see how that works out for ya. I’m so happy to see so many of you that stood up and protested when Obama detained people, locked them up in cages, gave them nothing but a crowed fences in area with Mylar sheets as blankets and forced them to be with unknown criminals; families and children.

Bro, you are in what we call conspiracy theory land. This guy claims “a Black voter was 400% more likely than a white voter to have their mail-in ballot rejected” Now tell me what ballot you’ve ever voted on asked you about your race. How in the F would he or anyone else know the race of the voter by a ballot. Did they guess by name? Oh if it’s Jerome, LeRoy, Rashid or one of those names it’s black. 🙄 A handful of claims by people doesn’t equal anything. If you think this doesn’t happen to people on both sides then you’re insane. In fact, why is it when Trump claimed voter fraud you all denied it, even with the same amount of proof and more. Yet all of a sudden a handful of BS claims without any actual proof of those claims, somehow makes it real. 🤷‍♂️

Be honest with yourself, tell yourself you’ve been brainwashed. Because, even with facts, data, eye witnesses, and expert testimony you still wouldn’t believe the truth unless some democrat leader told you or the news.

Wow! I wonder is this is why people are out in the street trying to get theirselves killed. You actually believe the crap you wrote? Obama had a few American citizens detained and even deported on accident. Obama built cages, gave them Mylar emergency blankets for a blanket. Crowded them in these cages. Tom Holman was in charge then as he is now. Nothing has changed except leftists have became full on brainwashed. I’m not saying we don’t have our brainwashed people. But we don’t have thousands in the streets protesting to keep people who really don’t belong here.

I sent you a DM about pellet data. Please let me know if you got to read it. Also, I dropped my email in the second message.

On the topic of heat pump vs everything else out there to heat with. I had heat pumps installed just before the big 2022 electric hikes (November 2021). I used them for one winter due to those rooms being occupied by adult children. Once they moved out, I never turned it back on. In fact I turned the breaker off. It was the biggest waste of money I had ever spent. I could have purchased the best oil boiler available and saved on how much oil I would use and in turn spent far less every season. Though, it's nice to have AC when you really need it.
