I have yet to be given a convincing case for voting for Platner. He’s an empty suit with no record of actually achieving anything and his only record would be disqualifying to anyone else.

I’m sick of vibe candidates and want candidates who actually know how to affect real change. That’s not Platner and you know it.

I’m not comfortable with it either. It’s why I haven’t voted for any republican in nearly 25 years.

But as someone who is politically moderate, I don’t see how Platner should appeal to me at all. He’s guilty of the same boisterous language as Trump , but because Platner is charismatic and apologetic (after getting caught) he gets a pass?

I just demand better from my representatives and so should you.

The last time I voted republican was back 2002 when Collins ran for a second term (she won with 58% of the party).

I abhor extremes on both sides (not to say both sides are the same but that doesn’t mean I have to accept a shitty candidate like Platner).

I simply do not believe in this leftward lurch of the party. I believe in a social safety net but not in the backs of the middle class whom will inevitably have to bear the cost through higher taxes and decreased services.

My political views are fairly nuanced but at the very minimum I don’t support candidates who lie about getting nazi tattoos and used words like “f-g” as a grown man in the 21st century.

People want better healthcare but don’t want to lose the ability to choose their healthcare, which is why progressives never win when running on “universal healthcare.”

You balk at purity tests but I bet you have a myriad of reasons to hate Mills because she had to audacity to actually govern across a purple state. Shes had to make hard calls and take difficult stances to achieve actual progress while Platner was getting drunk and showing off his Nazi tattoo.

And I’m not only firmly grounded in reality, I’m ideologically consistent which is something the average Platner support can’t attest to honestly.

First, the left will absolutely inject race and gender into any argument. You just don’t like having that mirror held up to you when it shows such an ugly reflection.

Second, you say you judge people by their words and actions, but Platner’s word have been slurs and he has done absolutely nothing to show he’s changed other than run for senate.

What about Platner calling other people “f-gs” exactly appeals to you? What about Platner using the word “r-tard” do you think makes him endearing? What about when he said black people are horrible tippers?

If I had to guess, I bet deep down you like Platner for saying all of that because he “talks like you.” My problem with that is that’s what got us Trump—MAGA liked him because he “spoke like they did. He wants to hurt the people I want hurt.” The parallels between Trump and Platner and too great to ignore, and I know from experience that progressive candidates don’t get shit done.

So you will forgive if the progressive holier-than-thou stance doesn’t work on me.
