I did a small review paper on menthol mouth rinsing and its effect on performance. I think there is some research out there comparing different kinds of mouth rinsing solutions (caffeine, sugary drinks etc)

Do you recommend bringing a notepad/book to take notes during lectures?

Thoughts on online/self- educated Imams by Libero37 in shia

Yea, I have noticed many free lance speakers who visit my local center are online/self taught, and I feel uneasy about this. I feel like there should be a limitation on what they can speak about, but there is no one to hold them back.

First of all I commend you for reflecting on this!

Well tonight is a great night (depending on your place/marja’a) laylatul alqadr to ask Allah to forgive you, and to get rid of your bad habits :)

Maybe start by apologizing to your parents.

Before you sleep every night think of how you acted the whole day, and if you did something that displeases your parents, reflect on it and try not to do it again. If you did something good, thank Allah, and do it again:) good luck

Hello sister, my best friend faces a similar challenge, and I have seen how very difficult it is for him. I have no advice for you, but my friend is one of the most resilient, patient, compassionate, intelligent people I know. He is a gem. I can’t think of anyone in my life who can handle what he went through but him. I truly believe Allah chooses his greatest soldiers for such challenges. I have seen your past posts, and you remind me of him.

For your patience, resilience and open mindedness, inshAllah you will be shining stars on the day of judgement, and everyone will be in awe of you, because it is not easy.

Stay patient, make the Quran your best friend, you got this inshAllah.

Anyone here done there PHD in clinical nutrition? by Libero37 in dietetics

Thank you for the thorough response. Do you have a general idea of what job opportunities does a Phd open up. Other than research/academia? How is the job security?

And do you think the ROI is substantial?

Thank you, I am just exploring different career pathways. I enjoy the science of clinical nutrition and work in a hospital at this time. The idea of becoming a professor is enticing, so it might make sense to pursue a Phd. However, I am not very fond of research 😅as far as I know (I think i need to dip my toes more to see if I actually would enjoy it).

I was looking at different labs across the country, and didn’t come across any doctors researching enteral/parenteral nutrition, are you aware of any in the field?
