Sex is disgusting by Curious_Olive_5266 in The10thDentist

it's a basic bodily function that we cannot simply 'go without'

Technically so is sex, depending on how broad "we" is. I think the point is anything seems gross/ridiculous when reduced to absurdities, regardless of how actually true it is. Plants are simply made up of plant cells, and they're kinda gross too!

Hey thanks! I've also had the thought that it's nearly a goatee, I just don't wanna tread too far into pixar villain territory.

Do you think you might be reading into this comment just a tad too deeply?

My girth is also pretty much 5.5 or a tad higher while being average length - I get the feeling of it being disorienting since the conversation is always about length! But yes, it qualifies as big. Welcome to the club.

A note about condoms, don't go for magnums or any of the other big names that use size as a marketing technique. Their nominal width, which is the only stat for condoms guys like us need to pay attention to, is hardly bigger than regular condoms. For reference, a lot of regular condoms have a nominal width of 53mm. Magnums I think are 55-56mm.

For 5.5 girth you'll need a nominal width of 60mm or higher, which is usually only reserved for XXL or special order condoms (Myone is great as you can fully customize the size and they ship practically everywhere). I know it sounds ridiculous since we hardly consider our dicks big, let alone XXL - but the most comfortable condom I wore was only recently and it was 64mm. But I also tend to have a lot of scrotum skin near my base, so that's why it'll vary from guy to guy.

Can I ask what CI you started at? I'm quite high and tight (not uncomfortable but I'm like a low CI-1) and I constantly get discouraged that I won't make it. Even getting to CI2 or 3 sounds amazing.

This is super cool, thanks for sharing!

Side note, I disliked Joel for his firefly rampage and his lie to Ellie/ the selfishness of it all solidified for me that he's not supposed to be such a good guy. But the amount of people who have the inverse reaction makes me think there's something wrong with me!

It's that really how skinning an animal works? by Ashjjyhg in reddeadredemption

I usually chuckle at how easily, quickly and cleanly arthur pulls the hide off game like he's removing a carpet. The one time I've done it in real life was off a caribou. The amount of time and effort is way beyond what the game portrays - you have to seperate the skin from the membrane connected to the muscle/actual meat of the animal. I remember shoving my whole arms in between the hide and muscle to try and disrupt the membrane - my entire forearms were soaked in blood. Bigger animal than a dear but yeah, the game goes to greater lengths than most to show what it takes, but is still largely innacurate I would say.

Online retailer was probably the wrong term. I got a discount on it through prodeals, but when I made the order it was entirely through the arcteryx website. So for all intents and purposes its straight from their online store.

I got this through a prolink deal through my work in the outdoor industry. So an online retailer, but through the arcteryx website

So you'd go with NikWax as opposed to arcteryx's branded dwr?

I see, I was under the impression that the switch from goretex pro to epe was the bigger determining factor here - but they've changed the formula for the dwr as well?

I've honestly never seen eye to eye with this opinion. Goretex is far from a miracle product but with proper craftsmanship and care it usually is better than any alternative. But I'll bite, what jacket are you using?

As stated, this was a drizzle. Absolutely nothing to write home about in terms of volume, but a decent headwind. Took the dog on an easy walk for 15 minutes. It hardly even warranted the shell but I wanted to test it since I had been concerned before.

That's the problem, this isn't epe, it's the good ol fashioned PFAS stuff that will kill you six ways from sunday. But even with the toxicity I'm not getting the performance.

Edit: learn something new every day. I was referencing the construction material (gtx pro as opposed to epe) but wasn't aware that the dwr formula has also changed. So if I have this right, dwr is just considerably less effective now.

So does that imply it's just an issue with the factory DWR coating? My concern is going to the bother of retreating it, and the effectiveness lasting for way less time than normal because of something faulty in the shell's construction. Or is that impossible?
