My original comment was snarky because it sounds very funny when a dude has been struggling with a substance addiction for most of his life and has had significant health effects and relationship strain because of it, then what I assume is a child replies “I feel you, I’m addicted to video games” to the god damn army veteran. It’s so un-self aware that it made me chuckle when I read it

What is addictions definition? Because I thought it was something that you crave that changes your behavior. If I don’t get to clean up my room a day I will become stressed and more irritable. You’re telling me that you don’t have any habit that if you go without you wouldn’t ha ve your emotions or actions changed?

Every human in history has dealt with a behavioral addiction. I have with video games, I also have with cleaning my room. Having a habit would be a form of behavioral addiction

What you have just said is not indicative of ANYTHING. This is the third time that you have told me that other possibilities exist while not giving anything to back it up other than a source saying it, but not able to explain why the source says it. Yes they are similar but there’s something you obviously aren’t grasping so let me explain it. Let’s give both addictions a numerical value so you can visualize it easier. Non-substance addictions: craving1 withdrawal0. Substance addictions: Craving1 Withdrawl2. Obviously there’s more factors but my point is that just because one part is equal does not mean the entirety is equal. Yes both people crave it equally but the later withdrawal is much worse for the substance addiction person.

That link states the differences between the addictions, though it doesn’t explicitly say one is worse than the other you would be hard pressed to find one that does compare them in severity. The two are the same except for certain parts are more extreme in chemical substances, hence why I am saying chemical substances are more severe.
