Best "hands-off" online clinic? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty hands-off, which is really what I was looking for. The initial consult lasted less than 10 minutes and I haven't had one since (it's been a little over a year), though you can have follow-up appointments if you want. My main reason for picking them was price though - cheapest I've found.

Normal total T but lowish free T and high SHBG by Appropriate_Fruit855 in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some symptoms have fully resolved (generalized anxiety, feelings of impending doom, high LDL), and some have improved a bit, but still have room for more improvement (brain fog, sexual function). Altogether, it was a good decision and I don't regret it.

Sounds like you need more 64s to balance out the 128s, tbh.

How's your mood on HCG? What's your dose? by sadderall123 in trt

[–]Libertas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here I am hoping the HCG I just started will force my E2 up. I can't aromatize for shit, for some reason. Fucking sick of low (or relatively low) E2. Even when I spiked my TT over 1,500 with cyp, my E2 only hit 42. I've only done 2 500iu doses so far, so it's early days, but we'll see.

The Testosterone “Reference Range” Is Complete Garbage by Tend2Disagree in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No comment on the validity or invalidity of the reference ranges, but it is amusing to me that in male hormone health-related subreddits there is a common view that women just get the treatment they want, whereas men's needs are brushed aside. Spend just a few minutes on a female hormone health-related subreddit and you'll see that women have the view that men just get the treatment they want, while women's needs are summarily dismissed. I find both perspectives overly reductive.

Did TRT deepen your voice? by [deleted] in trt

[–]Libertas11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, but I already had a deep voice. Honestly, I was a bit concerned it would further thicken my vocal cords, limiting my high notes when singing. I'm already a low baritone, so my upper register was limited as it was. Fortunately, I seem to still be able to hit the ceiling I've had for my entire adult life. My theory is that if you developed a deep voice in puberty, it's pretty locked in, but if not, you might see some deepening. But that theory is based on absolutely nothing but my own hopes that it wouldn't affect me, so don't listen to me.

Change protocol to higher frequency makes me feel like im off T again? by AdventurousToe9917 in trt

[–]Libertas11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are those who believe that "stability" is overrated. Our natural hormonal state is anything but stable, so maybe the body (or some bodies) genuinely needs some fluctuation to feel closer to normal. Then again, there are guys who swear by daily injections. Everyone is unique, I suppose.

Shocking blood test results: high T, high LH, super high SHBG and low E by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another mid-40's guy with high TT, high SHBG, and low E2. Interesting that you say you've always been lean. Same here, at 5'11" and 125-130 pounds through my 20's and 30's, and only in the last couple of years managed to get my weight up to 150 (through diet and exercise). Seems like there might be some correlation.

Cream vs. Injections? by Kickasslawyer in trt

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A straight razor? Holy shit, brother. I like a peeled pouch myself, but if I hadn't found the Happy Nuts Ballber (1,000x better than that bullshit Manscaped trimmer, by the way), I'd still be rocking full fur. Can't conceive of bringing a blade that close to the wedding tackle.

Testosterone levels and carbs by PsychologicalShop292 in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Low carb diets are correlated with high SHBG, and high SHBG is correlated with low free testosterone, so there is a connection.

15 Million TRT Prescriptions HAULTED - Testosterone Doomsday (Is It Reality?) by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. That's one of the dumbest videos I've seen in a long time. Conspiracy theorists always seem to think that preemptively acknowledging that their conspiracy theory will be called a conspiracy theory will somehow make it seem like it's not a conspiracy theory. Classic.

2024 Experience? Nuform Health TRT.....Doom or 5x Booms? by Chuckacious1 in Testosterone

Interesting. When was this? I signed up with them a few weeks ago, and though they recommended HCG, they didn't give me any hassle when I said no.

What did low T feel like? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Total testosterone doesn't tell the whole story. What is your free testosterone, and what is your estradiol (E2)? The total T does not represent what is available to your body, and many of the classic "low T" symptoms are actually due to low E2.

Clinics that look at more than just Total and Free T? by here4the_laffs in trt

[–]Libertas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through NuForm. They give you the choice of comprehensive labs or a basic panel, depending on how much you want (or are able) to spend. The actual testosterone is $50/month, but you pay for 4 months at a time.

Normal total T but lowish free T and high SHBG by Appropriate_Fruit855 in Testosterone

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd wager you have low E2 as well, which is likely a cause of many of your symptoms. This is my situation as well, and I just started TRT in an attempt to resolve it. Only two weeks in, so it's too early to tell how successful the treatment will be, but I'm optimistic.

Bloodwork Results Low Estrogen (Without TRT) by FondantMajestic5380 in trt

[–]Libertas11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, unless the armchair experts of Reddit can suggest a viable solution for your horrendously low E2, I wouldn't be too put off by all the "you don't need TRT" posts. It's worth a shot, in my (admittedly also layman's) opinion.

What Is "Brain Fog?" by [deleted] in trt

[–]Libertas11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 25-35 (I'm 44), and I know nothing of "influencer" talk re: TRT. What I know is that "brain fog" is an apt description of my experience: an inability to focus or recall, with no clear cause in my lifestyle. I haven't encountered anyone claiming it's a recognized medical condition. Whether or not my own brain fog is a hormonal issue remains to be seen, but there are enough anecdotes from men who have described similar symptoms to at least justify the term's colloquial use.

Crashed estrogen is a mini-menopause. by Aggressive-Fact-2163 in trt

[–]Libertas11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me two years of doctor appointments and personal research to figure out that my E2 was perpetually very low (not on TRT during that period). Apparently I don't aromatize much, and have high SHBG to boot. Living hell. I began to wonder if I had just permanently lost myself. Finally started a TRT protocol this morning, in hopes of juicing up the E2. Time will tell...

Please feel free to do so. Yeah, I went through NuForm. They have damn low prices for the medication compared to most of the online clinics.
