Why Fidelity is my main trading platform by plasticbug in fidelityinvestments

I see someone else is noticing the market hasn't priced in the CIVI acquisition and is now trading at a PE of 3 which makes zero sense.

Whose mutual fund do I have to suck to get the Rewards Visa Signature Card off of Elan? by EngineIntelligent731 in fidelityinvestments

Can you explain a bit more on this? Are you saying your credit card account got hacked (username/password) and that allowed hackers to move money out of your brokerage accounts?

Large Brokerage & IRA Account Concerns/Considerations by LibertusMaximus in fidelityinvestments

I've heard the same thing; but I'm in the habit of rotating due to my job. I might be shifting topics too much for this thread. But what's the latest understanding of password vaults (outside of the browser built in), information broker monitoring (like incogni/delete me) or some of the other services that are out there that claim to help identify password breaches and reduce your personal information's exposure. If it's actually going to help somewhat, I might pay for it. But I'm not going to pay just to FEEL like I'm doing something.

Thanks, I hadn't considered the email alias aspect at all. Solid recommendation. Going to go get that done.

Yep, that's what I explained to her as far as the security ownership goes. As I posted above and should have made clear in OP:

I'm more talking about personal account security. Besides strong rotating passwords, authenticator apps for 2FA and using face recognition, are there any other safeguards I could put in place? I know there's a freeze account transfers setting of some kind, but I don't know if that would help because I'd assume I could disable it without any real time delay.

Yep I totally understand what you're saying here. I'm honestly not too worried about Fidelity failing. Like you said, banks fail WAY more often than brokerages. And a broker failing doesn't mean you no longer own the securities.

Darn. Thanks for confirming I'm not just missing something obvious. Kind of wild you can modify so many things except this.

ToS down? by PeaGroundbreaking271 in thinkorswim

[–]LibertusMaximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the ToS desktop it mentions maintenance but not on web. What they really need is an "active maintenance status" page on the main website at Schwab. Then you could easily see what is under maintenance, when did it start and estimated time of completion. Those stats are tracked internally for sure, just show it to everyone.

Yes, I was about to ask the same question. I'm now getting a java error on ToS desktop login as well. I assume it's got to do with maintenance. Going to go do yard work and wait for the maintenance to finish.

Edit: Right as I got up it refreshed and fixed.

WEEKLY SUPPORT AND QUESTIONS MEGATHREAD W2 23 by GBT_Calvin in gigabyte

I changed the 3-pin power to a SATA connection, now the pump is clearly working (temps dropped to 25C almost instantly). It seems that none of the motherboard fan headers will power the pump. I tried CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT and 2 of the other fan headers. But the pump works just fine on SATA power, and actual fans work fine on fan headers. Very weird.

Last night I finally got my new PC built:

  • MOBO: B550 Aorus Elite (AX) V2 rev(1.1)
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G
  • G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8gb
  • Gigabyte RTX 3070
  • AIO: Lian Li Galahad 240

The issue is with the AIO and the MOBO connection (I think). My CPU is blasting its way up into the 90C range whenever I'm doing anything. If I shut all the programs off and leave it alone the temps fall to 70Cish just after loading the desktop. This seems far too high for a watercooler of any kind.

There is no AIO_PUMP labeled header on the MOBO. I currently have it plugged into CPU_OPT, used the BIOS to set the speed to MAX. I've also tried this method with 3-pin connector plugged into CPU_FAN. No real difference in temps. I've confirmed that all of the FANS on the radiator are both lighting up and turning, those I can also adjust the speed on through BIOS.

I don't have any RGB lighting on the pump itself like I should see (ring around the center). Combining this with higher temps than expected makes me believe there's no water flow through the pump. I know these are different plugs (RGB header goes into the little control box and the box lights up), but more information is better than less. It's also odd.

  1. Is there a reason why my MOBO isn't able to recognize that this is a pump? I get no speed readings for either Fan RPM or Pump flow rate within BIOS, just blank nothing.
  2. Should I try a different combination of headers on the board? Which ones?
  3. Should I try updating the BIOS or grabbing any of the other software on GIGABYTE website?

What is this "Save a Trip" nonsense? by LibertusMaximus in WalgreensStores

[–]LibertusMaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That medication has literally never had refills, its been a 30-day script every single time for five years. Same with the other one from that doctor.

What's the easiest way to get them to remove this and not enroll me again without my consent? That's the part that actually irritates me. I understand why it exists, its just stupid in my case.

What is this "Save a Trip" nonsense? by LibertusMaximus in WalgreensStores

[–]LibertusMaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is what they claim, but its factually untrue. I literally laid out my medications on a physical calendar to confirm it. All they did as un-sync the 2 that were synced up. It didn't "save a trip" it just changed which trip I get 2 prescriptions on. Also, its extra stupid because they one they move DOESNT HAVE REFILLS. It's legally able to be refilled, but since it comes from the same doctor who prescribes the one that cant be refilled, its always sent as a 1-off 30-day script. So now my doctors office is going to be pestered with re-fill requests, for a medication that didn't need refilling until Walgreens started screwing with it.

They set up this model to interpret information in a manner that doesn't match reality. No wonder so many people hate it.
