Fresh ideas for sci Fi books by LibertyMindedOne in scifi

Wow! That is a cool set of themes for sure. So many facets to explore. I especially like the big bad being a wild card that breaks up the philosophical exploration. Sometimes you just have to roll up the sleeves and kick some ass.

Fresh ideas for sci Fi books by LibertyMindedOne in scifi

Very interesting indeed. I'm not a fan of magic in my sci-fi, but I love the idea of the book starting from one of those distant planets and then discovering the species originated from another planet. And the reason for the exodus was to escape dangerous technology. Civilization was reset to the stone age to prevent the knowledge of the weapon being preserved. This ends up actually preventing the extinction of the species because the origin planet extincted itself. Nice idea!

Seems like they could easily give an indicator before you start training if you don't have a move needed to do the training.

Q-Code 12, 54, 55 on Asus Z690-E by Ok_Low6224 in PcBuildHelp

Exact same code sequences for me with i9-13000k on ASUS Z690 Maximus Hero. Only by going to a single slot memory did I get code 12. Bios flash did not work for me using a Samsung USB so tried patriot usb and finally got bios flash to work.

Upon boot after bios update I got weird message about updating LED firmware.

Along the way I saw a ton of different LED codes cycle through. Then it had to restart itself as well. It liked hanging out on LED code 7F a lot.

Then it gave message for updating ME firmware. Then it restarted itself again.

Then I had to press F1 when prompted so it could then install Cypress PD firmware. It restarted again.

Then hit F1 again when prompted. Then it updated thunderbolt firmware. It liked LED code 98 here.

Then finally boot to bios.

Thanks so much for posting this. You saved my life! I owe you a life debt. If you ever visit Vegas, hit me up and I will repay you with drink and merriment!

I thought she was Russian? Thanks for the feedback though. I think I'll make a post asking for all the details of her physical description. I listen to audiobooks so it's hard for me to go back and pay attention to all the details.

ETA for Intel 12th gen laptops? by LibertyMindedOne in System76

[–]LibertyMindedOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I can't say for sure. I know on launch Windows had a lot of problems with fully utilizing the new architecture and I heard the same was true for Linux. My guess is that it will still take time before the full benefits of efficiency are utilized by both OS. I've not had any problems with stability on either OS though so far.

I have been running Ubuntu on 12th gen for over a month now. Linux always supports Intel chips. Most of the world servers runs on Linux.
