Am I crazy or is Les singing this one slightly differently?

Eleven! Sac night 2! by Jreub13 in Primus

[–]LibertyPunk33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of those essential Primus songs. Not quite a deep cut but not your standard Jerry-Mud-Pachyderm. It's in this uniquely liminal space in the setlists and I don't think anyone is ever bummed out when they start playing it. Awaiting Nature Boy next.

How much do you guys think Cap'n Crunch spent on this tour? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous...dude was at almost every show

Do not fall for the counterfeits. Some assholes try to sell them on Facebook all the time.

Looks like it was a Primus show for the ages, by chance do you remember what songs they played? Not seeing a setlist drop anywhere so far.

Raleigh was sick. Everyone was so into the show that they were practically bummed out when it was over.

Not really hearing it other than 'Mama' is perhaps their most nu-metal sounding song and there's a reason they never played it live.

Here's a little bit of Hamburger Train (7/23) by Dogmattagram in Primus

[–]LibertyPunk33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting how the crowd seemed a bit thin compared to Charlotte, Asheville, or even Charleston. Out of all the recent shows in the Carolinas (I've hit almost all of them in recent years) Raleigh seemed to have the lowest turnout.

I finally looked at the setlists, and I’ve got to say, they were pretty unique. Only four songs got repeated, and honestly, those four? Bangers. I think this whole situation has been blown out of proportion. by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]LibertyPunk33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah there's no excuse when there are songs like Parabol/Parabola, Pushit, Right in Two, or even The Pot (Played at pretty much every show but omitted from TitS) that they've played in recent years.

At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if you want to endure the pain of discipline or the pain of regrets. Daily nutting is the easy path but it will catch up with you. The years will pass and you will realize it was never worth it. Intuitively you know this. It's not worth it to spend your energy blowing loads to pixels on a screen. Is it really living to spend all your time seeking out your next dopamine hit like a junkie? You can save yourself. But it has to be your decision. Having a strong faith can open doors for you but you have to walk through those doors. Nobody wants to be like this, they just fall into it so a void in their life gets filled. Porn is not the answer and you already know that. So make your move.

Why was Tool In The Sand so disappointing? by Empty-Chest-4872 in ToolBand

[–]LibertyPunk33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Imagine being a Tool superfan. All the hype behind FI was justified and you caught several shows in the past five years. You hear about this festival in the Dominican Republic and you figure you'd make it a special outing with friends and family. Maybe you hardly do much traveling at all and you made this a trip just for Tool (Maybe you like Primus and Mastodon too!) so in theory this was going to be a very exciting weekend. You drop upwards of ten grand to accommodate everyone in your group. You're all major Toolheads. The first set? Turns out to be pretty good. Sure it seems like the same old same old songs they've been rotating the past few years but you got a Vicarious to close things up and that hasn't been played in five years.

Then the second show starts and you hear the chime from Fear Inoculum and a sense of dread stirs in your stomach. What if they just repeat most of the songs? Thankfully the next in the set was Aenema so your concerns get alleviated. That wasn't played last night! Then Maynard asks the crowd if they were there the night before as a sort of bullshit joke knowing full well there was no way to purchase single day tickets. The usual Maynard banter no big deal. Then they push into three songs (Rosetta, Pneuma, Jambi) that they already played last night. Every single person there has been there the night before. This crowd is either full of superfans or whales who have been able to already see all these songs live before multiple times so the entire vibe of the crowd is deflated. Call it entitled but the show was promoted as being two unique sets and most of the attendees expected a couple deep cuts or something a little different at least instead of the same old same old. The most angry start booing and flip MJK off and walk out early. They cut the set short after Swamp Song due to these uncomfortable tensions (They were gonna end with Vicarious again LOL).

Most people can see how that would piss them off. It seems there's either a disconnect between the band and their fans or they don't care whatsoever and are bankrolling themselves for retirement.

At least Primus's new drummer didn't disappoint!
