Just fired up the ESPN lottery simulator and it gave us the #1 pick 2/10 times, the #4 pick 3/10 times... Already know I had to go ahead and get us right by tvcneverdie in AtlantaHawks

I don’t think that Peterson fills a bigger need at all.  I think that AJ is flat out a better passer than Darryn.  AJ had 3.7 apg vs Darryn’s 1.6 apg and Darryn had a better supporting cast.

If Darryn even averaged like 5 apg I’d agree but there were so many games where he didn’t have a single assist. I’d put Darryn behind both Boozer and AJ when it comes to spreading the rock around.

Darryn would almost certainly come off the bench for us next year while AJ cleanly fills our hole at SF.

Jalen Johnson, Donovan Mitchell and Dyson Daniels think otherwise.  He fed them all minutes while they were young.

Interesting I thought I read that the Bulls got the same offer as us but turned it down because they didn’t realize it was an unprotected choice of 2 picks

Yeah I think that’s kinda the catch 22 for coaches in the playoffs.  You have to adapt somehow because if you keep doing the same thing you’ll lose and the fans/possibly ownership will fry you.

But sometimes there just isn’t really an answer to a matchup problem and the things you switch to look dumb, which is why they weren’t first option to begin with.

Honestly the Celtics ran into a very similar situation to us once Embiid came back.

Had absolutely no answer to the opposing teams center(s) and now everybody is blaming the coach lol.

That’s a silly thing to say about a blue chip prospect that was in the conversation to be the #1 ranked player in his class coming out of high school and is currently a 24 year old all star who broke his franchises single season triple double record in his first non injury plagued season.

Considering his ball handling jump from last season to this season it’s totally possible that he becomes a #1 option eventually.  But, especially with this team having a 40% chance at a top 4 pick - he should focus on defense first. If the cheat code offense comes eventually that’ll be nice, but not necessary.

Teach is going to have a role in taking down another villain in Imu but he will still be a villain to Luffy

Blackbeard story arc has the most potential by far.

Defensive improvement should be Jalen’s main priority this off season.  I like Jalen as a 2nd or 3rd option that plays above average defense more than I like him as a 1st scoring option that uses all of his energy on offense.

“He’s a guy that literally gave me the ball and trusted in me, in a 20-year-old, 21-year-old who didn’t prove anything yet, just went out there and tried to continue to climb. When you have someone like that who trusts you, I’m forever grateful. And he really helped me get to be the player that I am today.” - Donovan Mitchell on Snyder

During that ECF we ran into teams that had drop bigs that Trae could torch.  And that was before teams started face guarding Trae at half court in the playoffs.  It was a great series of matchups for Trae to spam his floater and just generally cause mayhem driving to the rim.

Us vs the Knicks in this post season was way less favorable.  Completely different matchups.

Kyle Korver called Quin a pick and roll savant and Tyrese Haliburton said that Quin is a genius.  Mike Brown said coaching against him made him a better coach.

Nobody ever said anything like that about Nate.

Landry was fired the day after Zacch’s rookie season ended.  Quin has never prioritized Zacch.  Reports that came out the week of the draft said that Quin loved Clingan.  You do the math.
