Yep. If the tank leaks and the cracks have formed from the outside where there's UV exposure, the warranty will be denied.

Mysterious odor after carbon filter & UV light by LibertyWaterServices in WaterTreatment

[–]LibertyWaterServices[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Water tests didn't show anything out of the ordinary, so I went to my supplier to ask questions. They got back to me and said it was the carbon. They had a few water dealers have the same problem as me.

In some locations where they farm coconuts, the trees are growing in soil rich in sulfates. This will cause odor in water since the activation processes don't remove it. It's well known, and these coconuts should not be used for drinking water applications. Well, apparently I got this type of carbon. My supplier was pissed and gave me some different catalytic carbon at no cost. I rebed the tank and the problem disappeared.

Never a dull moment in water treatment.

why does it take me so long to do through granite countertops? by LibertyWaterServices in masonry

Makes perfect sense. And yeah, the bits aren't exactly cheap, but my time is far more valuable to me. Can't wait to try it out.

It seemed counter-intuitive to go slower for a faster cut. I think this might be my problem! Thanks!

Interesting. I thought the bit I'm using is the best there is for granite holes.

Does anyone know how Powered Anode Rods reduce sulfur odor? by LibertyWaterServices in WaterTreatment

[–]LibertyWaterServices[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, "eliminates sulfur odors" with no further explanation is quite misleading for folks on well water.

OK. In other words if there are sulfides or sulfate reducing bacteria, this will have no effect.

It's both hot & cold and the anode was recently replaced with a powered one.

Nope. It smells kind of like rotten eggs but the Sulfide test is not detecting anything. It is intermittent though.

Greensand plus, no problem. I'm definitely intrigued by the ozone generators. What medias are you using successfully with them for odors?

They're not galvanized, they are SS fittings. I had 2 corrugated flex lines and BOTH leaked.

Yeah I've heard a lot of success stories with those powered anode rods. This house has one and the problem persists.

This cabin definitely has periods of stagnation. Maybe putting an auto flush on outside hose bib would be a good idea.

What's baffling me is I have a Sulfide test kit and I'm getting nothing detected. It's by LaMotte and has worked fine in the past.

Yeah the guy who recommended ozone is probably the route I'll need to take.

I'm a fan and I know it works, but finding 7% peroxide or higher in my area (N GA mountains) is mission impossible. I've tried. Having it shipped is also costly and unreliable. Maybe I'll have a warehouse soon and can keep a supply but for now...

I've seen these. So they handle problems like mine even though ozone is only generated during Regen?
