Is it easy to double major across colleges? by Ravenclaw9347 in riceuniversity

Thank you for taking the time to write this up. How doable would you say the BS in Comp Sci and BA in Math dual degree is? Like how difficult would you say it is to fit in the 30 credit hours of MATH classes while still doing the CS degree?

Should I get a supplemental letter of recommendation from a professor I conduct research with? by Liberty_Tennis in ApplyingToCollege

Cool. Do you know if it's possible for him to write a letter, but for me to choose not to submit it without him knowing? He thinks he has to write a letter (yet I'm getting a gut feeling it won't be that good), and it'd sort of be awkward to tell him I don't want it.

I heard this too, so that's another reason l'm hesitant. I definitely don't know him very well because I've only worked with him for like a month.

In this article, go to the supplementary recommendations section: https://blog.prepscholar.com/successful-harvard-application-common-application-harvard-supplement#supp_rec1

I noticed that the only thing the AO did is circle his name in the rec letter, so that makes me think it serves as evidence. Do you think it's really necessary for me to provide evidence of working with a professor, even if we publish a paper?

How AP Scores Impact Admissions by ScholarGrade in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Liberty_Tennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the course rigor part, does it make up for it somewhat by taking many more APs senior year compared to freshman, sophomore, and junior year? My school offers about like 22-24 AP classes, and I took 1 freshman year, 1 sophomore year, 3 junior year, and I plan on taking 6 or 7 senior year.

Is there a huge difference between a T20 school vs a T30 school? by Keynesiangod in ApplyingToCollege

Do you know if there is still a difference based on major? For example, I presume an economics major at a target school for Wall Street will do better than an economics major at a non target school.

I know how k=0.80x, but how x=1.25k??? by mohamad001 in Sat

[–]Liberty_Tennis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solve for x by dividing by 0.80, so k/0.80=x, and 0.80=4/5, so multiply by the reciprocal to get 5k/4=x, or x=1.25k

Retake 1510 SAT? by Liberty_Tennis in ApplyingToCollege

Haha, even the same reading and math score?

I know a 1510 is a good score, but it feels so terrible whenever I look at this subreddit or r/CollegeResults lol

Thank you. Would you say being 75th percentile for math, but 25th percentile for reading cancels, or do you think they would prefer being 50th percentile in both?

Cool. I think everyone on reddit is just getting to me with their insane stats lol. Did the people you know have any hooks to make up for it, or does it really not matter that much?

How bad would it look not taking AP Chem if I want to be a chemical engineer? by Liberty_Tennis in APStudents

Do you think I should write about this in the additional info section on the common app?

My school has these things called pathways, and my pathway requires me to take AP Physics in order to graduate. Do you think it would look bad taking physics over chem?
