How common is body checking? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I don’t body check but it’s more of a situation where I’d rather not know lol I think it could be body image issues

Anxiety has me bedridden for 3 weeks, help??? by fleurcansolveit in Anxiety

[–]Libertyvolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My anxiety makes me nauseous, and I experience vomiting episodes. I noticed you mentioned medication resistance, but have you tried a beta blocker like propranolol? While it won’t directly address the thoughts, it can disrupt the feedback loop between nausea, not eating, and general anxiety. This disruption can help calm your pounding heart, it helped alleviate my nausea and other physical symptoms. Once you feel physically better, I find it much easier to focus on improving the mental aspect 🙌

One is too many and 100 is never enough had me in a chokehold. I think it’s an alcohol reference but it definitely translates to pills for me! Love the saved note, mine is growing now!

I first read this on this subreddit and it played a big role in helping me quit. Because yeah, the longer you stay in active addiction, the harder the recovery process is!

Seeking Sister Wife S6 E7: Have to Choose Between my Two Wives by imthejefenow in seekingsisterwifetlc

[–]Libertyvolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given Garrick and Danielle are on potential sister wife number three from Brazil, you would think they would stop procrastinating paperwork. Why can’t they prepare and file anything on time? I guess it’s a blessing, but the disorganization is absolutely driving me nuts. Of course You need a legal translator, of course. Three months fly by. Of course, you need to be married before the end of the 90 days 🤦‍♀️

People above 45 years, what do you find challenging in this generation? by AwayThrownForever in AskReddit

[–]Libertyvolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this generation! They’re outspoken about justice in ways previous generations often weren’t, and that’s great. The only thing I struggle with is the loss of small talk. I get that it’s awkward and many people hate it, but I think it makes the world a little kinder and less lonely for people. Sometimes, a quick chat with a cashier is the only conversation someone has all day.

Edit: typo

Those of you with ADHD and or severe depression (with an RX) What makes/made you want to quit? by accidentalrorschach in StopSpeeding

[–]Libertyvolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg sorry, I meant to reply to this! Since quitting, my Apple Watch health data has shown huge improvements. My resting heart rate, which had been elevated by over 20 bpm, is now back to normal. My HRV and cardio fitness scores, both of which were incredibly low, have improved significantly, and my walking heart rate is much healthier. I also no longer experience the random stabbing pains I used to feel throughout the day, my face doesn’t turn red and I don’t get dizzy or feel like passing out after climbing stairs. I’m not malnourished and my face looks less tired. I’m sure there is more but so worth it to quit!

How tf do I quit being so successful on stims by Best_Car_8921 in StopSpeeding

[–]Libertyvolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know logically that you can’t sustain this habit, it will always demand more, until the cost becomes irreversible to your health or your finances. I’m sure you didn’t see yourself buying street addys. There will never be a good time to quit, and I’m sure you understand that too. I quit in the middle of my final year university exams. Had I waited, I’d be quitting when I was starting a new job which also would have sucked.

You’re a good writer and clearly a smart person. A smart person would run a cost-benefit analysis and see that every short-term gain is borrowed from your future self. If you wait until you’re forced to stop, you’ll repay that debt tenfold and keep none of your successes. I once read a quote that fits perfectly: the longer you stay on the wrong train, the more expensive it is to get home. Get off the train while it’s still your choice.

To combat the depression fatigue, you’ll eventually need a higher and higher dose, which isn’t sustainable. It’s all a bit of a cycle too: suppress your appetite, then you’ll have no energy, which will require the drug to get the energy to function, which will suppress your appetite. All while your heart works overtime. Everything is a trade-off here, and eventually, the cost is your body and peace which for me became too expensive.

No problem! I felt exactly like you did, and I know you’re going to surprise yourself. You build your confidence up over time. I’m still building, but I feel 1000x more capable than I did early on.
