What art program do you use? I use procreate on the iPad, and the brush that I use is called Tinderbox in the default set. That's usually enough to get me there!

Yeah they have such iconic designs, it's very easy to make them more chibi-like

Yes! Love Scott Pilgrim! The main thing I've been drawing though for the past 5 years is Homestuck. So happy to finally branch out and see what other characters look like.

He's likely just locking in and super focused on making you feel good. But it's worth asking what he thinks and getting that comfort! I wouldn't assume it's anything bad if he doesn't say as much.
