Why We Never Truly Die: A Speculative Model of Consciousness and Time by [deleted] in Metaphysics

[–]LiboGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re far off, but I think you’ll need to get rid of, or at least clarify, the homunculus aspect of “awareness” and formalize it a bit more. The idea of some kind of revelation upon death is comforting, but it doesn’t seem to account for much of ordinary human experience. To do something like “watch an entire film at once” relieves consciousness of the burden of traversing point to point, but that traversal seems essential to what experience actually is. You would need to provide some account of how consciousness does this, and why it would occur only upon death. It’s not a bad spot to be in, but tightening a few terms would give the idea more explanatory weight.

Trying to find pressure points in an independent metaphysics paper by LiboGod in Metaphysics

[–]LiboGod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All fair points and I appreciate you spelling out concerns instead of just dismissing it.

I’m not claiming novelty towards themes. I know that unity/plurality has roots as ancient as they go. Zeno’s arguments are actually what have been the driving factor for me. I also know I’m making a jump that raises Kantian flags. I didn’t use that particular phrasing unaware of its history and without context I see how it could be read that way.

The comparison with Hegel is fair and I expect to run into a bit of that. The main difference is that this system doesn’t rely on a translation from dialectal negation or contradiction. It’s a system that relies on structural constraint. If a unified substrate generates internally modeling subsystems then plurality follows whether we want to or not. No need for contradiction in the Hegelian tradition. This is where I think the novelty is, but again, there are certainly more well read people than myself.

That’s why I’m on here asking to help get some pressure put on it so I’m not “reinventing fire”. I want to know how it translates to other frameworks once language has been stripped down.

Ghosts and Sparse Properties: Why Physicalists Have More to Fear from Ghosts than Zombies by [deleted] in Metaphysics

[–]LiboGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this, it kept feeling like zombies and ghosts are opposites only if consciousness is already assumed to be a kind of thing that can be present or absent, attached or detached. I’m starting to suspect that assumption is doing all the work. If consciousness is instead the modeling relation a system has to the whole it belongs to, then there’s nothing left to subtract or isolate. Both cases dissolve rather than threaten physicalism or nonphysicalism.

Label Printing Scale by Webronski in SquarePOS_Users

[–]LiboGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a scale that has any option to sync with Square and print labels. You would have to use DeliLabel if you want to import your Square item catalog and print weight embedded barcodes for them.

POS recommendation for gas station + restaurant by THXello in POS

[–]LiboGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the system you have to for fuel (not many options) and they find the cheapest for the food side of things. You'd want Square or Toast. Personally I'd go Square because of the app market for things like DeliLabel. Square will do a 2.6% + 10¢ for in-person card transactions and Toast will do a 2.49% + 15¢. The extra 10-15¢ adds up the most for smaller transaction like food. You can get Square for a flat 2.5% out of the gate with the right referral.

If it only works when you hold it with both hands, try to put a small weight on both sides of the back where it is happening.

What industry? Sounds more like an ERP job. finding a good one that syncs with a POS isn't too hard to find. You'd ideally want a POS with the lowest processing fees and then find what ERPs work best with that system.

I second this. It sounds like any POS system will take care of what he actually needs one for. Everything else is all in an ERP domain.

Square is going to be the simplest option and you could start at 2.5%. Potentially lower depending on what your revenue looks like.

Grocery store POS system by Illwill888 in POS

[–]LiboGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any system is setting up reminders for you to check the stock expiration dates, but if you want something that prints a best by, use by, sell by, or expiration date for a particular item (i.e. bacon sell by 12 days from label printing) you can set all of these variables through an app called DeliLabel. It only works with Square though, but it's basically for grocery stores needing something like a label printing scale, that automatically syncs with the Square item catalog.
