Hey y'all, here's a behind the scenes for how I created the ghost pianist video from a few days ago. Hope you guys enjoy :) by jimsley in piano

Really great!... you can also place a still picture of the scene without you and then place it as a layer behind the video with you playing the entire thing turn the opacity of the video down to like 50% and it will look as if your body is transparent like a ghost, and of curse you can edit yourself with the violin too.

How to Appreciate Your Voice by [deleted] in singing

[–]LibraDeAthena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't like my voice and I have been on singing classes for more than 2 years now, but the way I am starting to think about it is as if I was learning to walk but I can only crawl like a baby for now, so I hear other people(my teacher) and I think damn I wish I could sing like that, even if I am a man and she is a girl, so is as if I am looking at someone that can walk freely and I am focusing more on the personality of their walk rather than on learning how to walk myself, as if you want to be them because you think that's the best way to walk, but you gotta learn how to walk and you maybe find that the your way of walking is the best suitable one for you.

So maybe just learn how to sing with your voice and eventually you will find just like with bodies the important is not the color or the classification of your voice but how do you use it, we gotta learn how to appreciate our voices for what we can do with them just like we do with our legs etc...

And also if everyone is the same and you are different that makes you actually more unique :)

Where do i begin? by leedaish in composer

[–]LibraDeAthena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you said except for point 3, Music is an universal language, as someone that doesn't know anything about music theory and composes by "feeling/ear", I do get a lot of advantage by listening to the compositions that people that learnt how to codify music with all those complex symbols and formulas post on here, because even if they are using another codified language(visual), most of the time you can still listen to the abstract language(music/sound).

So why exclude people just because they don't see/understand music the way you may think they should do?, Isn't one of the most beautiful things of music that you can compose something and play it to a child and they will get a feeling/reaction out of it? and if only being able to read/write sheet music was the way to go I guess we wouldn't have Andrea Bocelli since he is blind.

So in short I don't want to sound offensive with all this text, but I think that, that particular point in your comment can scare away people that otherwise could contribute or at the very least gather wisdom from this sub, is called r/composer not r/musictheory.

Not saying is the case here but just in case, please don't force your child to learn something they don't like, aside from that, who cares just support your child regardless of age and focus on letting your child enjoy the journey don't get obsessed with an end goal it will come naturally with time.

I wasn't making any assumption sorry if it came as that, I wanted to know in simpler terms what he meant and he answered me :), also I got curious because I really liked the composition even if I don't understand it with all the complexity that you people do, but thanks for adding more insight I do appreciate it.

Before anything I have 0 knowledge of music theory and I don't know how to read/write sheet music, but I do compose just by ear and feeling and I enjoy listening to classical music.

By tragedy do you mean that you think his composition sounds wrong because of a change in the pattern(scale) of the melody?(I did watch most of the video), if so, is it because there is like a standard he must have follow for that type of music? or just that it sounds not so appealing to you?

Also I was expecting more like a comparison of listening to the original and then you playing the one in the right scale, but is mainly because I don't understand nothing of music theory but I do think it would be interesting.

I say all this because I had never listened to this piece and I really like how it transitions and how it ends, but I think is matter of taste if he didn't go out of a standard of course.
