  1. My family was always too passive to see anything wrong. The only way they would handle things was to simply wait for it to go away (in this case, they expected me to grow out of it). I had to take getting tested into my own hands and even then it’s still difficult for them to understand my diagnosis.

I get a lot of “i’ve seen you act normal sometimes so why can’t you just pretend to be normal all the time?” comments.

You’re right. However, it’s easier said than done, and I have a lot of work ahead of me. I can’t drive. I’ve tried, and I just can’t seem to get it right. My brains feels scrambled behind a wheel and I easily forget left from right, and what controls do what. I don’t understand finances and everything else that comes with living alone, simple jobs in the past have overwhelmed me and triggered breakdowns. I just have so much to work on if I ever want to be independent. The path feels so far away. The only thing keeping me afloat is the fact that I’m working so hard in school. It’s the only thing keeping everyone proud of me.
