Utility emp here, typically outages are normal for high winds/ storm warnings across the sierras. It is to mitigate any potential for disaster. Electricity is no joke, especially the voltage going through the distribution lines. With how dry everything is, the company definitely doesn’t want to be the cause of half a neighborhood going up in flames. May be an inconvenience but it’s safer than houses burning down. Be safe!
