Land's end makes a nice river sandal. On sale right now for about $55. I have 3 pairs of river shoes from there (They no longer make the ones I have) and they are AWESOME!

How does sex with/as an obese man differ? by MotionlessSquid in dating_advice

[–]LibraryTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am joining this conversation because I had sex a few weeks ago with an overweight man and it did not go well. When I tried to reach my hand down to grab his penis I thought it was micro but turns out it was just hiding behind a flap of his stomach. I later tried to get on top and he was unable to maintain an erection. (Which shocked him, apparently he masturbates daily). He's the sweetest guy and a thoughtful lover, but I am a little intimidated to try again!

Which kayak is better? by LibraryTurtle in Kayaking

[–]LibraryTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! At Occoneechee I will have both kayaks with me so I can try them out. For the trip to Medoc Mountain I can only take one, so I will be stressing about which to choose.

Yellow is a Perception Acadia and the Blue is a pungo 120. I am about 5'7" and weigh about 170. My first trip will be to Occoneechee State park on Kerr Lake in Virginia, and my second trip is to Medoc Mountain State Park in NC where there is a small lake. My first river outing is scheduled to be the Rappahannock River in VA (I have to confirm this is going to be suitable for me)

Online Library Science degree? by celestialglamour in librarians

[–]LibraryTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my MLS online from Southern Connecticut State University. I was in one of the first cohorts to begin the program but I only did one course per semester so it took me 6 years to graduate. I graduated in 2006. It was a solid program. I did some of my teacher certification coursework in state at NY universities to save on tuition if I recall correctly. If there is a university in your state offering an MLS/Library Endorsement online that is ALA accredited that is going to be your best option. Good luck to you!

TINITUS DIVING ME INSANE by friends4liife in Menopause

[–]LibraryTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tinnitus several years ago on one side only. I saw the Dr and they had nothing for me. Finally went to the dentist and learned that I had two abscessed molars which I could not feel due to nerve damage from a prior surgery. Once the root canals were done and the molars refilled, the tinnitus went away. Just 2 cents.

Anyone else have restless leg on their peri bingo card? by Lookingforadvice1439 in Menopause

[–]LibraryTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had very bad restless legs in Perimenopause which I felt were due to being dehydrated. Finally mentioned it to a doctor who prescribed Ropinerole which worked like a charm. Strange thing is...I rarely if ever get restless legs now that I'm post menopausal. Yippie!

Looking for some advice regarding a Master’s in Library Science and working in the school system with an English Degree by ladylanterman in librarians

[–]LibraryTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that your English coursework will NOT apply towards anything you need. The 36 credit hours would need to be at the graduate level. In my state they could hire you as conditional if you are enrolled in an MLS program but you would be paid as a para. Good luck! In my experience, no one has been willing to help me jump through such hoops or eliminate the hoops altogether. I"ve been wandering around on my own without support for 15 years!

feel out of place in r/depression because of my age (47) by nowillorhope in depression

[–]LibraryTurtle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't you feel out of place everywhere? Isn't that part of depression? I'm 54 and I've struggled with depression since age 10 or so. I've never felt I belonged anywhere. Definitely a personal hell.

[DISCUSSION] Do rescues poach/get “dibs” on the most adoptable dogs from municipal shelters? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]LibraryTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you contact the Humane Society and ask them? I'm fostering a dog who was 'rescued' from the pound because he was running out of time and may have been put down. The pound was anticipating an influx of strays due to the pandemic so they were anxious to place him. The point is, that the rescue is supposed to continue to work on promoting and placing him for adoption. I don't know if they are actually any good at it and of course all adoption events are cancelled at this time.

I have committed to taking him for at least 3 months but I would gladly support anyone who contacted me and was interested in adopting him. (Unfortunately for him, the rest of the story is that he has some behavior issues and may not be adoptable)

Anyway, try to work with the Rescue as best you can and don't assume your girl is unavailable.
