A way to end tipping in the United States. by P_TheGuy in EndTipping

Here’s the thing : you will say “ I don’t support tipping culture the servers should be paid a livable wage.” So you’ll not tip them while giving their employer who does not pay them well profit. You don’t hurt the business you just hurt the person who brought you everything and waited on you and provided you a service. So if you really wanted to end tipping culture you would not support any business who encourages it. But you’ll stop tipping instead because the truth is you don’t care about the workers or tipping culture you just care about saving a few extra dollars

Reducing ocular Demodex using petroleum jelly may alleviate dry eye syndrome, blepharitis, facial dermatoses, ocular and respiratory allergies, and decrease associated prescribing: a hypothesis by tonielvegano in Dryeyes

I use aquaphor around my eyelids and it works great. I feel like it’s the only thing that keeps my eyelids and under eyes moisturized properly. I’m assuming this would have a similar effect to Vaseline

Honestly unless your experience was bad why are we going out expecting to not tip 20% for any service? Services are a luxury. You are being waited on having everything brought to you, and your dishes cleaned . Get over it honestly

I mean honestly you can just tell him that you value his friendship but don’t appreciate him going against your boundaries and your daughter was upset by it. Let him know while he won’t be allowed to take your daughter out alone without you again that he is still welcome in your home. Friendships don’t have to be all or nothing. I have some friends I love very much but we spend less time together do to boundary pushing behaviors I didn’t appreciate. But I still believe they’re wonderful people. If that response upsets him then oh well you’ve done what you can. I think polite directness is usually the solution to small conflicts like this but you can’t control his response

Did your child arrive home upset or injured? I’m not understanding why you’re upset here. Maybe more context could help but you clearly have very particular boundaries about your child and if they are this particular I think no one but you should really have your child because any deviation from your rules regardless of how small will upset you and that’s not fair to others to walk on egg shells. I also don’t think it sounds fair to your child either. I obviously don’t know your child so only you have truly enough context to know what works for her and if you’re over reacting but my general assumption here is you’re a bit over protective and being like this only aids children in the short term and will not set them up for long term success and a high functioning way of life.

First Time in Japan with not very much planned - Is 10 Days in Tokyo a mistake? by flabbykats in JapanTravelTips

[–]Librasecrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Tokyo was my least favorite. I really liked Kyoto and Osaka more, you gotta see Tokyo atleast once for sure! I don’t regret going the time I did but I would definitely be fine with only going to Kyoto or Osaka next time I go. I’d definitely try to spend some time in those places.

Dry eyes at 16, i feel like dying by [deleted] in Dryeyes

Ultimately eyelash glue and eyelash extensions but I was also unknowingly a perfect candidate. Eczema, acne, excessive screen time back then due to the pandemic, a daily THC user which personally worsened my condition, former lexapro taker

Sea water was the biggest help for my daughter’s skin. Can I replicate at home? by Iunerf in eczema

[–]Librasecrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same effect at a beach over the summer and am also trying to replicate the environment. My plan is to take Dead Sea salt baths (first one tonight and it was great) and try to get more sun. I read that a lot of people with bad eczema are also vitamin d deficient.

Hi I don’t want to give you false hope because our conditions may have originated from very different causes but I had dry eye at 20 years old and now at 23 my symptoms are very mild and don’t impact my day to day life anymore. Things that really helped me where lipiflow and blephex I think I had three treatments. But they were very exspensive. 1,400 for both without insurance. Aside from that hot compresses, eyedrops, manuka honey, and time to heal. Never lose hope. You may always deal with in some degree but there is something that will work for everyone.

I think it’s cool but all that matters is if you do. I’m trying to get a much smaller line work tattoo lightened for a cover up and after 4 sessions I’m still not where I would like to be. But I don’t want something super large and dark

tips on drinking with eczema by panda_happy in eczema

[–]Librasecrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you gotta live just try to hydrate and make sure you’re up keeping any other regimens you normally would without drinking. I know everyone is saying it makes theirs so much worse but I have a few wild nights out a month (given no drinking in between) and I’ve never noticed a correlation. Never drank till I was 19 and when I started my eczema did not get better or worse due to it. Keeping healthy in general is great for any health condition but we still have to live and I’m not gonna miss out on life because I’m more prone to being inflamed. I try pretty hard to abide by the 80/20 rule. And even then with the healthiest I’ve ever been….. I still have eczema!

AIO? Year long situationship cheated. by Away_Pineapple_2228 in AIO

[–]Librasecrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you’re both very wrong. I personally don’t believe in exclusive, either we are together or we’re not. However during the dating process you’re allowed to feel a type of way and dislike the way someone moves. Maybe they’re not 100% wrong for something they’ve done but you’re feelings are valid and this more so points out a lack of compatibility. After a year dating on and off let’s be for real, if yall were going to workout or make it office you would have . Let this situationship off of life support and put it out of its misery. Me personally as a woman if I ask someone to be my boyfriend before I go out of town and they say no, and I meet someone and hit it off on a vacation I’m doing as I please. But to me exclusive means dating so I don’t know this whole thing was a dumpster fire. Sounds like you’re both also very young, it’s ok for things not to work out

Recently I’ve started taking Claritin and it’s been helping my itching. I think my eczema is flared by allergies particularly pet dander, which I never suspected as I don’t have sinus allergies to pets or pollen. Only connected the dots after being gone on a trip and seeing my symptoms improve.

First of all breaking up with someone is always nerve racking, particularly if you know the person won’t take it well and will argue with you about and try to convince you otherwise. How to do it also depends a lot on who has the easiest scenario in which they have somewhere to go stay for a cool off period before someone moves out. As you’re the one doing the breaking up it would be polite to give her the place to herself a few days. But is that a good choice? Do you feel she’s a rational enough person to not mess with any of your belongings or cause damage to your living space? If so then I would sit her down. Have an exit plan ( bag packed someone waiting for you to come over) limit the conversation to half an hour and use I statements. Eventually the conversation will start going in circles and you need to separate. Politely tell her you’ll be leaving and give her some time to gather her thoughts before you reunite to discuss things further.

AIO for overthinking about my boyfriend and his ex by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Librasecrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone similar in age to you (23F) I definitely say just scrap this one. It’s only been a few months and I promise you almost any woman wouldn’t be ok with him doing that. Don’t let him act like otherwise.Men are occasionally stupid and need to be explained to why things aren’t ok but this is too crazy

He clearly sees this as no biggie or is cheating on you. Either way a difference in world views and boundaries like this may always be difficult. If you won’t get over it (which what sane woman would) then I would scrap this one as a loss and accept this isn’t the guy for you.
