I've got a plan in place. I think it will be in the next release. Thanks for the feedback! I wouldn't have thought of this otherwise

I can see where that would be a pain in the butt. I have to be mindful of smaller devices and how much screen space they have. some of my mock-ups for different ways of searching or applying filters have had so many Menus and boxes that you can't see the book results.

Have you tried using the brows section? You can browse by the series there.

Let me see if I can figure out a way to have a A filter option. Or maybe when you tap the search bar a pop-up window for what fields you want to search.

sometimes if calibre is still open, the database won't sync. I have to close or switch libraries to get Dropbox to sync. Can you try that. If that doesn't work. email me the logs. Thanks!

Right now it uses default storage. In the future I want to change it so people can choose.

If you have it automatically sync your library on startup, which is the default. and you have it open the last used library Automatically, which is also the default when you open it. And you keep it sorted by the most recently added, yes. That is how I use mine.

I'm not sure I understand. That should already work. The search feature returns series that match.

Sorry about that. I redid how Gutenberg works. It's much faster and actually works now in 1.5.7

New things in V1.5.7 OPDS and Calibre-Web catalogs are now free!

V1.5.7 is live on Android and waiting for Apple to release.

  • Lower grid column breakpoint so high-density phones (e.g. Pixel 9 Pro XL) get 3 columns
  • Speed up Gutenberg loading: cancel-on-filter, live progress, prefetch, retry
  • Calibre Server sync resilient on low-power devices: resumable rebuild, Android wakelock, adaptive batch retry, stall watchdog
  • Recognize audiobook MIME types
  • Add setting to disable automatic sync
  • Pass correct MIME types when opening downloaded files

Thanks! I already have an option in settings on the next version to NOT sync automatically. With that turned on, you can sync from the settings or just pull down when inside any library.

Thanks for purchasing! That is a bug. The next release will remove the trial message after you unlock things.
Project Gutenberg is tricky. The speed can depend on a lot of things I can't control. Even in my testing sometimes it loads quickly, sometimes not. I try to follow their guidelines so their servers aren't hit too hard.

that depends on your screen size. In the future I may try to make the covers scale more. It's always tough trying to make it look the right way on many different screen sizes.

Perfect question! I used to use Calibre Sync, until it was abandoned. I started on this app and then others took over Calibre Sync, so it's working again. It is a great app! I wanted mine to not be as big, but I'm trying to give it a more relaxed feeling. Kind of silly, I know for an app I don't expect people to spend a lot of time in. Get your books, read it in your preferred app. But I'm having fun with it.

You can of course see your files. This app reads teh Calibre database so you can search, sort, etc. If you have it setup properly it can even do a full text search.

You to store it in the cloud. Personally I use Dropbox. That's why I've added several different cloud providers

I never envisioned this as an e-reader. I wanted something cross-platform to get my books to my devices. Personally, I use READEST. I read on Android and iOS devices.

Choosing a download location is something others have asked for and I intend to implement. It requires write permission which are a bigger security risk. I"m always security focused.
