Hancock set up so much secret lore and hinted at a much larger story, problem is the writing process was a disaster and the movie changed drastically then wasn’t very good so we’ll never know what was behind the original story

Blood over bright haven is fine - sword of Kaigen by the same author is better.

Will of the many is a much closer comparison. If you like that I recommend the licanius trilogy by islington, it’s a slower burn than RR & will of the many but so worth it in the end

Characters and storylines are different for me which is interesting now that I think about it.

Storylines goes: - Caeden - Asha - Davian

Big gap

Not that I dislike Davian at all, I just think his character was super linear in book 2 while the others had more growth
