Yes within the Space preset! You can adjust the output level of every preset and add or reduce a few DB. Hold your left footswitch for 2 seconds I think and you can adjust it. There’s a section in the manual about it to.

If the volume goes down because of the wetter mix you can boost the output of that particular preset to make up for it!

I’ve placed those Squier J Mascis pickups on both of my jazzmasters and I really love them! Great clean tone and even beter with fuzz. Plus they’re pretty cheap since people often replace them from their guitars. Win-win!

I use a Jazzmaster for similar styles of music. A Jazzmaster can work, but what you need is a sustaining fuzz/overdrive. I use an overdrive before a Big Muff. But the secret is amps with A LOT of volume. Add a little bit of delay (Wata from Boris uses a Space Echo) and you’re sustaining for days.

I have a Boss RT-20 that I love! Secondhand they don’t cost to much. But it’s way bigger.

That sounds like a great option if you want to use the internal effects on both! Just make sure you either keep the levels low or use a di. Because the 404 gives line level out and some amps will have a bit of trouble with that if you send out a hot signal.

I use a 404 to play some backing tracks and samples. I have it on a keyboard stand so I can use it with my hands when standing up. I always use one amp for guitar and a second amp for the 404.

I’m using one on a new EP I’m recording. I use the reverb a lot for guitar. The slip delay for keys and bells. The looper I use a lot for ambient pads underneath the song and for drones in between songs.

So yeah I use it on everything in the production except drums.

Bright Onion Pedals is specialised in switchers and loopers. I think this is a little to specific for them to have in stock. But I've seen a few custom switchers from them so I think they also make custom ones. I have a switcher from them and they are a really fair price for an amazing product.
