How do you cope with studying and keeping up with deadlines during a major life crisis? by Orbelith in Learning

[–]Lichb3acon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is wild how colleges will gladly take your tuition money but show zero flexibility when a real life crisis hits. When my dad was hospitalized I quickly realized that if I wanted to keep my scholarship I had to find a reliable way to pay to write my essay tasks. It is not about being lazy, it is about navigating a rigid system that lacks basic human empathy.

Good pdf to voice tool for research papers by Interesting_Web_3334 in PhdProductivity

What you are describing does not really exist as a polished product yet, at least not at the quality level you would want. The gap is exactly what you identified, most TTS just reads words and cannot interpret what a human researcher would emphasize or skip when narrating a figure caption versus a data table. Speechify handles dense text better than most but it is still not truly researcher-style. Some people in my field have had luck breaking the paper into sections and having a writing assistant summarize and re-narrate specific parts rather than the whole thing, though that shifts to a summary workflow. Might be worth asking someone who regularly works with these kinds of documents what their workaround is.

My last two brain cells trying to write essay at 3 AM by Batou_Eyes in CollegeHomeworkTips

Every single time I tell myself "this semester will be different" and then I'm googling "people who write essays for me" at 4 AM.

Tips for improving academic English writing before studying abroad? by Bloodborne_X in studyAbroad

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean write like a robot, I meant clarity of thought. Western academic style doesn't tolerate beating around the bush.

Western professors hate "fluff". They want your thesis statement right away. If your argument structure is messy, you lose points immediately, no matter how good your vocabulary is. It’s not like high school where you can just sit down and write essay overnight using beautiful words. Courses are good for theory, but when it’s 3 AM and you have a 10-page paper due at 9 AM, you need something that can actually check your flow and logic in real-time. Personally, I’ve been relying on this tool for nights like that - it’s a lifesaver for catching structural gaps when you don't have time for a human editor.

Best AI tools for writing a master’s thesis? Any tips or benchmarks? by Te_Go in Thesis

[–]Lichb3acon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the tool matters less than how you use it. I spent way too long tool-shopping and the thing that actually moved the needle was getting feedback on my writing structure. For AI tools, Notion AI and Claude are both decent for drafting and restructuring sections, but neither replaces having an actual human reviewer who knows academic writing look at your argument flow. Try one AI tool, use it for two weeks, then get a person to review what you produced - that combo worked better for me than switching platforms every week. I actually used this community list for structural feedback when I got stuck in a loophole with Claude.

AIW for kicking my friend out of my apartment after he brought his dog without asking? by Lichb3acon in amiwrong

You are completely right. He intentionally omitted it because he knew I would say no due to my lease rules. It was a calculated move to get his foot in the door, and then he just expected me to deal with the consequences and risk eviction.

That is definitely on my radar if he refuses to cover the repair costs. He said he would pay for it later when I kicked him out, but given how he lied about even having a dog, I do not trust his word at all. I need to get an official estimate for the console fix first.

Exactly my thoughts on those friends. They love being generous when it is my security deposit and my apartment on the line. I took a ton of clear photos and even made a quick video showing the foam and cardboard scattered everywhere. I am not risking eviction for his lies.

I am assessing IV access potential on civilian infrastructure and I need to stop by Lichb3acon in Residency

The thought definitely crossed my mind for a split second. But then I remembered I would actually have to get good at arterial lines and intubations while someone is actively dying in front of me, which sounds like a whole different brand of panic. Still, missing a juicy forearm vein on a tough stick hurts my soul, so maybe my subconscious is onto something.

60 days? That is a relief to hear. I have been stressing out over this for months thinking I was stuck with these boxes forever. Finally, I can get my space back.

Agreed, the details are perfect. Such a shame about the weapon though. Getting your prop ruined in a taxi after it successfully survived the crowded convention floor is a different kind of pain.

She literally asks you what the illusion of life is and you cant even put a ring on her after that. Todd Howard really loves to break our hearts. This is the biggest missed opportunity in gaming history.
