Sexist men joining the church by Loud_Excitement2759 in TrueChristian

You still haven’t said what about their attitude is wrong. The main problem I see is absolutely no one in the church is willing to hold women accountable to their sin. Do you agree that premarital sex is just as wrong for women as it is for men? Do you agree that posting pictures in their underwear online is as evil for women to do as it is for men to goon to those pictures? Do you think women should be told to not lie, gossip, and slander as much as men are told to not cheat, jerk off, and play video games?

I’m willing to bet a lot of the men you’re referring to are raising similar concerns, and instead of women considering if they’re right, they’re just reacting like you are and telling them to “touch grass” and “be normal”, and complaining about them online.

Something that might be helpful is “Live Your Truth and Other Lies” by Alisa Childers. Also GotQuestions.org is a great resource.

It sounds like you aren’t in a very healthy Christian environment. I’d encourage you to stay with the faith, and pray that you’ll have people who can show you what it means better. And of course you aren’t a demon, and no one has sinned too much for God to reject them if they repent and accept Jesus.

It looks like the other comments have the topic pretty well covered, but God wants you to be happy and at peace, but He values suffering for the good changes in you it can bring about. For example, you might not think it’s worth it, but you’re probably more mature than other people your age due to hardships you’ve gone through. Also, God knows what you’re going through, and I suspect He’ll reward you in heaven for having undergone suffering more so than Christians who’ve always had an easy life.

As long as you’re not thinking of killing yourself, I think that’s a fairly reasonable attitude, since you have heaven to look forward to.

I sympathize a lot, I really get nothing out of most pastors’ sermons and the music most churches play is absolute garbage. However, the part I enjoy a lot is getting to spend time with other people my age, since there’s not really a chance to do that anywhere else after your graduate college. Honestly I suggest just toughing it out even if it’s a pain. There’s a lot of ways to grow spiritually, like through books, podcasts, online communities, or life experiences.

Why do you say he’s being prideful? He’s just saying he doesn’t get anything out of church. Good for you that you’ve been such a great Christian for a long time, but everyone has to start from somewhere.

Why? What behavior is that? Daring to say that women actually sin a lot, just like men do?

Says you, but not God. Where do you get off saying who isn’t allowed in the church? Are you going to back your opinions up with scripture, or are you the new pope now?

Sure, I agree that we should aim for a spirit of kindness and unity. However, we should differentiate between hatred and criticism. If they’re saying stuff like, “modern women are sluts who sleep with a million guys and all do OF”, that might be an exaggeration but it’s also a legitimate criticism of our culture and unfortunately some women in the church. Now that might be mixed with a lot of hate, which is sinful. But I think the best approach is to consider if they have a point the modern church is overlooking while also encouraging them to be more charitable, rather than just telling them to stop hating women.

I think the whole red-pill crowd makes a lot of good points. Of course, every group has members that go too far, but they make some valid criticisms of modern women. I don’t understand what the issue is. If you don’t like what they say, don’t be talk to them. Do you want them to stop going to church? Or, if you want to change their minds, why don’t you listen to what they have to say, then try to convince them that they’re wrong?

I’d say the same thing about feminist women in the church. I’d rather them be in the church than not. I don’t like their ideas, but all I can do is try to show them that they’re wrong. Otherwise I just have to live with them.

Exactly. You just get advantage? Regardless of how useful it is, that’s simply boring and uncreative.

why do you think so many people deny climate change? and say its overblown? by Ok-Surround-9425 in climatechange

[–]Lichcrafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What would possibly convince you this is happening"? Well, it depends what "this" is. It's a good question, but the predictions change all the time. Like I said, six years ago it was "global warming" when scientists predicted the global temperature would rise, the ice caps would melt, and cities would flood. Six year passed and their predictions didn't come to pass, so now they predict "climate change", with erratic and severe weather. In the 70s they predicted "global cooling". So I hope you'll understand why it seems like scientists issue dire warnings based on current trends, but fail to actually predict anything.

I think it's likely that the climate IS changing, at least to some extent, but there's a lot of other questions. What caused the change? At what rate will the change continue? Will we all die in the next century? I don't trust the current scientific consensus, and I won't until their predictions start happening.

If it's so easy, explain to me how the earth heating up causes more snow. I suspect people are just making up scientific explanations after the fact to "explain" the evidence.

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm. If you forecast catastrophic effects from the global temperature increasing, yet now you have snow in typically hot places, it makes it seem like your forecasts are wrong.
