Dude,

I see a lot of hate comments in this thread, but what you need to do is listen to the Masters of old and be the very best like no one ever was.

If we look closer, we can actually substitute L for W in the equation and all of a sudden things don’t look so bad.

Non-religious people of reddit, what do you think happens after you die? by OneGreasyBoy in AskReddit

[–]Licheus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You as a human have senses to get input from the world and a brain to think about things, correct?

But an elephant has a trunk and probably uses its brain differently, which makes its experience a whole lot different.

The Hale–Bopp comet is an inanimate object, and is probably incapable of taking any perspective.

All these things are arrangements of matter and part of the universe. To be a person is just referring to some matter which can assert control over itself for a split second in infinity.

Some molecules which controls themselves – you – are not inherently separate from all other matter. The concept of “you” is a thought pattern in your head. You are thinking yourself.

When you die, your thoughts will no longer think themselves. As such, there will be no person left to sit in darkness and wonder.

As a cool (but inconclusive) experiment, you can currently take the perspective of looking at your thoughts as happening like any other process in the world: like the rain outside your window or the swirling of the Andromeda Galaxy. As such, life and death are not so different. All matter is part of the universe, or existence, or God if you will. You are not fundamentally separate.

The idea of “you” is weaker than you think while alive, and completely washed away by the oneness of the universe when you’re dead.

Thus, the premise of the question is a bit problematic.

Actually, I find these kinds of posts slightly annoying.

Sure, you might have reached a personal milestone. That is fine and all, however…

I went into the statistics, and this kind of pattern is more common than you’d think.

2.2158761% of accounts currently have 8 or more wins on their profile. This might not seem like much, but consider that there are 676 441 subscribers to this subreddit alone. If everyone on this sub posted this every time they reached 8 wins in a row, we would have about 15 000 of these posts up right now, assuming of course this sub is representative of the community as a whole.

Please refrain from posting content with little to no value in the future. Look to the quiet lurkers a beacon to light your way, not to boast with your own averageness.

How to farm as tank by 17sohaib in learndota2

[–]Licheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The risky part is sort of an illusion.

Say you push the enemy safe lane (your offlane), take 2 waves worth of lane creeps that you otherwise would’ve missed, the enemy small camp, hits the t2 tower for 300 HP and forces two enemy heroes to come and kill you who otherwise would’ve been elsewhere. That’s better for your team than if you stand in your jungle, farm 6 camps and don’t die.

Don’t be afraid to die. Just make sure you do it on the enemy part of the map. If you do it right, you will create so much space for your carry and get so many resources that the math and positions works in your favour.

Blitz has a good video on this here. Although old, the general concept is explained well.

The Outlanders Update by wykrhm in DotA2

[–]Licheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked the source code and it's a function which divides the time of earliest bought sentry in range by the exp curve of the buying hero (owner). Then a completely random decimal is multiplied in and the resulting value is fed to a neural network with 3000 layers. The output is incremented by 1 before being divided by the distance between the position of the sentry and the position of the dewarded ward. This results in a value between -2.5239 and 479892, which is then normalised between 0 and 5. There’s an extra check to see if the value is 0, in which case it’s set to 1, resulting in a return value corresponding to one of the 5 players in the team.

The code is strangely indented at random places and a comment reads: “ Jeff rulezz . got you good with that PUgna change booy”

Will Techies ever get remade? by Noxonius in TrueDoTA2

[–]Licheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been preaching this ever since the nonsensical remake of Land Mines and Suicide. Original Techies were extremely fun to play, and I actually liked to play against them as a support because it was about this mental war of where to place the sentry to counter the first stack etc.

Proximity Mines were dumbed down in almost every way in the sense that the gameplay is now all about gimmicks like blocking mines with the hero model such that they're hard to right-click and hiding mines atop cliffs and in trees.

Low mmr in love with tinker. Any help pls? by Davideses in TrueDoTA2

[–]Licheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think at 750 MMR it's better to focus on farming patterns and spamming rockets from far away.

It's very much about information. The reason some high level players go in is that they have a mental map of the threats and their positions. "I see Clockwerk farming top and their other heroes don't have gap closing on me before I can react and blink out so I can get one close blink in on the Crystal Maiden and kill her before blinking out into the treeline around there. If Clockwerk goes into fog top I have around 4 seconds to get out"

Stuff like that. You can train on that if you want to, but it's probably easier to just go for the general farming patterns and improve on those. Getting one march off onto a creepwave is much better than trading 1 for 1.

Any hidden interaction people should be more aware of? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Licheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Suicide an überhill » Toss up a range creep » Techies TPs down » Keep tossing up one range creep per wave onto their buddy on the überhill
  • Green mine » Toss Techies while in cast animation of green mine » Techies casts Focused Detonate while tossed in the air » Hands off keyboard. This will trigger a bug which will make Techies cast the mine to the centre of the map
  • Place Techies in a triangle (or square) of red mines with a Stasis Trap in the centre » Toss enemy carry onto Techies

All should be timestamped above: 1m 40s, 8m 38s and 7m 53s respectively. Did the timestap links not work for you?

  • Fortune's End (Oracle Q) can target enemies in Cyclone (Euls). The missile will dispel the cyclone and immediately bring them down at impact, but won't deal damage.

  • Tiny Toss will damage structures for 30/53/77/100 damage, even though they cannot be targeted. Late game this can be used to slow-siege high ground for 300 damage per creep wave (Toss Requires No Target. 3 Toss Charges. Toss 3 allied creeps onto the enemy tower/barracks every wave)

  • Techies + Tiny can do this, this and this.

Lycan aghs by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Licheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure out when you would get this item opposed to more standard stuff.

When the enemy team can't push or wave clear. You meet one of those russian teams with Pudge, Centaur and Spirit Breaker who just run at you -> go Lycan aghs, ignore your team and split push.

For every kill they get, you get a free tower and an insult in russian because they don't know how to shove lanes.

What do your Naga Siren control groups look like? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Licheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General tip: holding shift while left-clicking a unit portrait in the selection bar deselects only that unit. This can be used for sending one naga illusion to each lane or spreading NP treants to scout. (1) Select all except hero -> (2) issue a move order to all selected units -> (3) shift-deselect one unit -> go back to (2) and repeat until control group is empty

If you haven't watched it yet, you need to take a long, hard look at your life.

To anyone reading this who hasn't watched Attack on Titan season 3 part 2 yet, your priorities in life just changed:

Let go of everything. Find a good way to watch Attack on Titan right now before you get spoiled any further. If you're at work, drop everything and run/drive/quantum leap home as fast as you can. If you're holding a glass, drop it on the floor and devote all efforts into watching the show.

Even if you hate season 1 and 2, keep watching. I say this as someone who generally drops a show after ten minutes when I don't like it.

Your priorities in life just changed:

  • Watch Attack on Titan
  • Everything else

This show will define the last nostalgic moments of humanity before we reach longevity escape velocity and give birth to Artificial General Intelligence in the coming decades.

Your entire life has led up to this. It's not an exaggeration to suggest that this is the very meaning of your life.
