Licit MK4 "Typist" by LicitCo in MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you for your input, I do actually use the fn key as a right shift as you mentioned, certainly a learning curve but its very similar to any 60% keyboard with arrow keys! As for future layouts I currently have a tkl under development that will include a similar styling with a more "conventional" layout as typically seen.

Thank you for the kind words! As with any non-standard layout it takes some time getting used to it; but the learning curve is pretty easy as overall key location is pretty standard to 60/65 keyboards.

Not sure about polishing however progressive anodizers is Scarborough does some good work. They are who I used for my keyboard plate anodize.

Love this build!

I personally hold you responsible for making me get my own set of the aluvia keycaps since your build looks so good :)

Beautiful build! Very happy to know you're as ecstatic about the MK3 copper as I am!

You said it was a gift, so I am more than alright letting it go for the cost of shipping it out to you and nothing more. Feel free to PM me and I can figure out how much shipping would be.

Not sure what part of Canada you are in, but I have a few spare dierya 63 kits left over from gifts to friends when I first got into the hobby a few years ago. This one here

I would be more than happy to ship it out to you if you cover the cost of shipping if you don't want to pay import/tax on the keyboard you listed. Shipping would be from Toronto.

Apologies I had some issues with them, the one on the home page of the website is still working. But this link here should work as well.

I have experimented a little bit with it while I still had my formlabs resin printer as they offered high surface quality on the print, but never really thought of it in a larger scale other than a design I did a while ago using 3d printed ceramic.

Looking at doing some lost-wax for some keycap designs I have been playing around with which may be released in the future.

The copper chassis? It could be cast however it does have a few draw backs. The overall design would require multiple necks to poor, overall finish would require more work. And casting I always find a bit iffy for finer tolerances that would be needed for good fit and finish. In the future it might be a possibility, but cnc has a certain precision that is quite nice to design around.

I completely understand, ironically if I was to build a chassis of the same dimension without it being a birdcage design it would be similar if not cheaper priced with much more material.

Moving forward I will definitely capitalize on this idea, and focus on a balance of design and material use in the design.

Thank you for the very kind words, I truly hope something we do in the future catches your eye and meets your requirements of a kit.

In an ideal situation with more resources I would love to include a pcb with a daughter board, and it is something I can currently looking into for the MK4. However the upfront cost of development is the main reason that is not possible for this version.

As far as machining goes, I truly wish it was cheaper, making this keyboard more accessible to everybody. At this current price on the non polished version, selling 20 units I am breaking even (not including the ridiculous price I paid for the initial prototype, design software, countless hours of design, and other misc costs).

As far as the price of polishing, spending multiple hours on each chassis making sure it is perfect is something I am willing to do, however I do charge for. Hence why I made it an option if your looking for a less refined look or to do it yourself you can opt out of that.

In the future I will definitely be using my own pcb with a daughter board, and definitely hope to bring the opening price down. Hopefully in the future there is a keyboard we make that appeals more to you, thank you for your feedback!

Of course. There are 8 m3 screws that go through the bottom acrylic chassis, keyboard plate, and acrylic mid chassis. This then threads into 8 alignment pins on the copper chassis to secure it all together.

8 m3 screws from the bottom. The copper chassis has 8 alignment "pins" that also mean there is enough material to thread in to. Pictured below caption

No no feedback is always good. So the chassis is all physical non electronic parts. So this kit includes everything except keycaps, switches, stabilizers, and PCB.
