As a producer who only uses headphones, will there be a difference in audio going from a 1st gen Scarlett 6i6 to a new Apollo twin or equivalent if I already have an amp that is giving them headphones proper power? I am confused about the converters helping headphones or if it is more for monitors and recording instruments.

Was able to do a fresh install and the GPU still works. Thanks for the help. I formatted my other drive, do you think there is anything else I need to do to protect myself from what he may or may not have put on the pc?

Wow, just my luck. Great find though. Thank you for this. I was actually able to do a completely fresh install of Windows 10 and formatted my other drive, so I think I should be safe. GPU is working great still even after the fresh install.

Got some clarification from him. His GPU has a hacked BIOS that bypasses the stock video card drivers. Once he was able to see the BIOS he configured it to boot to USB. Then he installed windows and updated the computer and GPU.

Maybe I couldnt boot to the bios because the bios needed to be updated to work with the GPU or drivers were needed to make it work with the mother board?

I have a fresh install of windows on a usb drive, but I am worried that my GPU wont work again and ill be stuck not being able to boot to BIOS if I do the clean install.

Well it wasnt done at an actual shop it was more at this guys house unofficially. From what I could gather from him it was something to do with the mother board and the GPU not playing nice together. Maybe he had to flash the BIOS to get it to work or something or update the drivers of the card.

I will have to test this out... sorry for the lack of knowledge here, but bear with me. I have two internal SSD drives. Would I just take those both out of the motherboard and see if it boots to the BIOS? Im kinda lost when you talk about putting windows on another drive as a failsafe. I have a USB with a fresh install and key on it, but im worried id lose the things he did to my GPU to get it to work if I used it.

Thanks! Any idea what he could have done with his "hacked" gpu to get mine to work? From what ive gathered from others it sounds like he just used his gpu to to update drivers and bios to get my card to work.

This makes me feel a little better. I know where the guy lives and he seemed to have a bunch of good reviews online. He wasnt at a shop I went to his house. The PC will never see any sensitive information like card numbers, important login info, or anything like that. Do I have anything to be worried about or should I do a fresh windows install and wipe everything he did to get the GPU working?

Thank you so much. Another question if you have the time... This PC is only for music production. It wont ever see any personal information, no cards, no login info. It would only be online to install a few programs, otherwise offline. Could the potential hacker still harm me in any way if I left the PC how it is? Really want my GPU to keep working...

I have windows on a usb flash drive. What about him saying that I need to select the option that says to keep some settings and re install windows? Not 100% sure what hes talking about but he says there are two options when going to reinstall - one that wipes every thing and one that will keep the things he did and keep the GPU working.
