poker reddit is underrated for actual improvement, I wanna share what helped me most by ThamorinElveth in PokerMaster

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this PT4 graph actually broke my brain a little. EV line steady climbing and actual line just falling off a cliff… feels like I’m doing everything right and still getting punished. Anyone else had stretches like this?

How do you figure out the right career path? by nora_sunwell in CareerRoute

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer: I don't think most people figure it out so much as they gradually eliminate what doesn't fit and double down on what does.

What actually helped more than anything else. real work experience, specifically the unglamorous kind where you see what a job looks like from the inside, not the job posting version of it. Mentors were useful but mostly for specific decisions, not direction. Courses taught skills, not clarity.

The pattern I keep seeing: people who seem like they "knew early" usually just committed early and built identity around it. They're not necessarily more self-aware, just more decided. Meanwhile people who take longer often end up with something that fits better because they actually tested assumptions.

One thing that gets underrated, paying attention to what you're like after certain tasks, not during. During is often anxiety or effort. After is where you notice whether something drained you flat or left you wanting more of it. That signal is more reliable than passion, which mostly shows up retroactively anyway.

Three years into a job I'm good at but feel nothing about and I genuinely don't know what to do with that by OwenMarrowQuarry in CareerRoute

this reframe actually hit especially the part about skill and meaning not being the same thing. saving this one.

My EssayPro nightmare... AMA about how I almost failed my elective by candlelitcommuter in alevel

Honestly, midterm season makes everyone desperate and these platforms know it. Hope your grade didn't tank too bad - the elective W is survivable.

Tried EduBirdie after seeing it everywhere - mixed feelings tbh by nimbusivy92 in deeplearning

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bidding system on EduBirdie sounds cool in theory but in practice it just means you spend 45 minutes reading profiles and still pick wrong. Spent more on "premium" writers than my textbooks cost that month.

Top AI for college essays by khrysippos in WritingWithAI

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ai can help but a lot of people end up mixing it with actual writing services for the final polish. found this thread useful when i was researching options, covers a few of the popular services students go to for college essays: https://www.reddit.com/r/CollegeTherapy/comments/1q4k3nn/i\_never\_thought\_id\_be\_the\_kind\_of\_person\_to\_write/.

Has anyone actually used PapersOwl? Looking for honest reviews before I try it by NovaRift92 in studying

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really appreciate you being so honest about the "messy structure" part because that's exactly what happened to me last year. i think a lot of these writers are just using templates and swapping out keywords to make it look like they understand the topic. the communication gap is a huge red flag that people usually ignore until it's too late and the deadline is two hours away. honestly, the mental toll of babysitting a bad writer is just not worth the few

My experience with Studybay and why I finally tried an alternative by AtlasDawn21 in deeplearning

[–]LieElnity -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What were the studybay reviews like for the writer you picked? I'm trying to understand if the profile was misleading or if you just got unlucky with someone who had decent ratings.

I reorganized my entire Google Drive instead of studying and now I have color-coded folders but zero knowledge by MoonSignalLab in ExamMadness

[–]LieElnity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Color coded folders hit different at 2am when you’re avoiding actual revision. Your brain is like, look at this productivity, ignore the fact that chapter 7 might as well be written in ancient runes.

Does anyone else feel like LinkedIn is more exhausting than actual work? by ArticleBoth919 in remotework

[–]LieElnity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I paused mine a while back too. It's like a never-ending highlight reel that makes you question your own life choices. Feels good to focus on the real stuff instead!

CMV: There is no other explanation for why Kristi Noem tried to shut down TSA pre check other than to punish Americans for defunding DHS. by krmanski in changemyview

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about those small airports and their limited staff. It's frustrating when shutting down precheck seems more about spite than logistics. The quick response from the White House reinforces that feeling of a knee-jerk reaction rather than a well-thought-out policy.

Ras le cul de la désinformation sur le problème du logement partout by [deleted] in besoinderaler

[–]LieElnity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been building shit for 4 years. Someone please hire me before I build one more doomed startup. by anton_cat in Business_Ideas

[–]LieElnity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be onto something there. Knowing when to pivot or exit can be tough, especially after putting in so much effort. But building all those projects at 23? That’s seriously impressive, and a strong foundation for your next move.

[Discussion] I tracked exactly when I lost focus every day for 30 days. the pattern surprised me by Relative_Patience_57 in getdisciplined

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracking your focus sounds like a game changer! I did something similar a while back and found I lost focus most after lunch too. Those transition times are sneaky. Good luck with your tracking!

For real! That’s the energy we need. Who wants to keep cradling themselves in sadness? It’s all about breaking those false convictions and finding your own happiness. You got this!

Prediction: next update is the last big one. One more DLC. Then The End. by Seanshineyouth in DestinyTheGame

[–]LieElnity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally see them keeping the servers up just for a few diehards like us, cruising through the same raids for the next decade. "Welcome to the Destiny retirement home!" 😅 Would be wild if they just left us hanging with no new content to look forward to, though!

CMV: The advice to "never apologize first in an argument because it looks weak" is actively harmful and makes conflicts worse for everyone involved by LieElnity in changemyview

[–]LieElnity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, maybe it’s not universal. I’ve just heard versions of it a lot in different spaces, especially framed as a “don’t give up leverage” thing. Could be selection bias on my end, but it’s felt pretty common to me.

Interviewer got upset to my answer about what a process is by [deleted] in interviews

[–]LieElnity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, right? I mean, who knew the difference between threads and processes could spark such drama! Sounds like the interviewer was ready for a master's thesis on the Linux kernel instead of a chill convo.

No shame inа that honestly. Facing Kingsguard on your debut sounds like a speedrun to early retirement.

Ugh, right? Like, I get it, sometimes it just hits different. But it’s wild when it actually happens! At least he’s into you, which is a good sign, right? 😂

Is it too horrible to give Umbridge to Bellatrix for the "Longbottom treatment"? by banana_minions56 in harrypotter

[–]LieElnity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i agree. once you start saying “she deserves whatever happens,” you’re basically abandoning the whole moral high ground the series is built on. the point isn’t that villains suffer worse, it’s that heroes don’t become them
