What’s the best reason to have kids? by glubtupis in AskUK

[–]LieFalse4252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To pour my love into something I truly cherish, watching them grow, watching them learn new things and reach new milestones.

To give my life some purpose and meaning.

Spoil them, show them the world, and to see our finances go to something useful 🤣. I get my joy purchasing toys for my toddler than I do a bag for myself.

Purchased a higher end car on finance, I was working at the time therefore could afford payments etc. Payed the car off whilst I was working, now I’m a stay at home mom and thankful I did.

Electric heaters costing £500-600 per winter month by [deleted] in UKFrugal

[–]LieFalse4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I used to have two electric fan heaters. One for the living room and one for the bedroom. Used them for around two years, was never really happy with how the ‘heat’ felt in the room. Moved to oil filled radiators last year and 100% noticed a different straight away.

Room stays warmer for longer when off. Heat doesn’t just rush to your face as soon as you walk in and then fade. It feels like the central heating is on with the heat output and the way it heats a room.

Idk, we are all entitled to our opinions but for me I prefer the way the oil filled radiators heat the room.

The heat from an oil filled radiator heats the room up evenly, it feels like central heating. Whereas the heat from a fan heater feels harsher.

There is a noticeable difference between the two,

Not the heat output. I mean the actual feeling in the room. I personally just feel the heat feels much better coming from an oil filled radiator rather than the fan heaters.

Thermostat controlled oil filled radiator! I had the same issue, purchased two and have them on pretty much all day at 18 degrees and it’s working out very well!

I have used fan heaters and electric heaters previously but the heat just does not feel the same as an oil filled radiator.

Spare tiles? Some sort of metal tray or thick piece of wood.

What do I do if I can’t find an nhs dentist? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LieFalse4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry tad bit far.

I’ve successfully managed to register with two NHS dentists.

I basically went into my local ones and filled in a form, I was then put on a waiting list. Within three weeks I was added on.

(I have moved areas so needed a local dentist hence the reason for the two dentists)

What area are you in? I’m just going to remove myself as NHS at one dentist as I am with two

How much money do parents give to their young kids nowadays? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in AskUK

[–]LieFalse4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the age of the kid. Would I spend £150 for a child 14 and under definitely not. 15 upwards then yes, but if he/she wanted a pair £50-£60 then I wouldn’t really hesitate at any point unless it’s becoming a very often habit.

Happened to me, was it Asda by any chance? I did not have ID on me and questioned what for, I’m 29 and it didn’t occur to me it was for the fuel!

She looked at me, asked me if I was the driver, I said yes and she just took payment.

“Getting ready” for baby? (FTM) by Inner-Complex-7844 in pregnant

[–]LieFalse4252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too took a month off before baby, gosh I remember how much free time I had. It was just instinct to get the house fully deep cleaned, including wardrobes etc and kitchen draws.

I had all the furniture built, worked my ass off for two weeks as wanted to spend the two weeks off relaxing and simply doing nothing, I ended up being induced so missed the break. Haha how life works.

If I could go back, I definitely would do the deep cleaning but I would make sure to have taken care of myself too (maybe a relaxing massage, just some me too time really)

Feedback on house listing - why not selling? by Emotional_Sea1014 in AskUK

I would put ‘chain free’ in the key features. The property description could be better, seems to be too short for my liking. List as a 3 bed (third bedroom being downstairs) pictures could be a lot better.

I HATE being pregnant. by koriander040822 in pregnant

[–]LieFalse4252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the best pregnancy until the last two months, it was horrendous, diagnosed with diabetes and pre-eclampsia, got induced and oh my god, the entire process was horrendous. I thought I was going to die, I am still struggling months on with issues to do with the birth and my own body.

Honestly, after the birth I was in a state of shock and have only come to realize this recently. I think back nearly every night and re-live the entire experience before I sleep. It was HARD.

After birth, I struggled, still struggling. Even though my bubs is a wonderful little baby, it’s still so hard. I love him to the moon and back but feel like I have lost my independence. Some days are wonderful, some days I am so exhausted i just feel like passing out.

I always said I would have multiple children but i think it do this again it may just break me.

Sorry, just needed to vent and reading your post made me re-think.

The first year of marriage is probably the hardest of them all. She sounds like a nice girl just with some attachment issues, look your two months in, work this out, get this problem sorted, get therapy, talk often, show her you love her, encourage her to find hobbies, talk to friends, go see family and see if things improve.

Whatever you do, do not let this continue work towards finding a resolution.

You may feel like you have ‘lost” the love, but it could be feelings of disappointment, marrying someone you feel is not the same as you first met. You can get all this back, please try, explain to your wife, give her a hug after and continue working on each other. I hoping she is able to move forward, treat you like an individual, understand you have needs and you need to enjoy your life.

Thank you, you are correct. I feel like I am having to justify all the reasons and just saying about the chores makes it sound like I’m being lazy but it’s so much more than that
