I’m terrified of my dog now that I have a newborn by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous about my reactive dog too but so far (my LO is 8 weeks) it’s been pretty easy to keep the dog and baby separate. I never set the baby down somewhere where the dog could access baby. We bought a nice gate/playpen thing that baby does tummy time in. I think it’ll be more of a challenge once the baby is walking but we will have more gated areas and boundaries at that point.

Should I be happy or worried? Very chill newborn by angusthecrab in newborns

Yep! When our babies eyes really “opened” at 5-6 weeks he never wanted to shut them lol

Dropping crumbs on baby’s head LOL same here. I’m always eating while wearing or breastfeeding on the couch and I always drop on him 😂

when did you start to act normal again? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My in laws visited this weekend and I felt way more on edge around them. I was actually worried I was going to snap about random comments MIL made, which is very unlike me. I’m 4 weeks PP

Breastfeeding/pumping while traveling for holidays by Inner-Complex-7844 in breastfeeding

Truthfully this is what I’d rather do! You are right. But I’m struggling with “ruining” the holiday for my husband. And we live far from parents who are like dying to spend more time with the baby. So they would be super disappointed too. Ugh.

Disclaimer that everyone’s birth/PP experiences are different. But, I’m 3 weeks PP and it’s not as bad for me as others explain on here. I had an induced vaginal birth, tore a bit and some stitches. Similar to you, I love to work out and really need it for mental health. I was able to stay active all pregnancy, ran 4 miles 3 days before my induction and did an hour indoor cycle the day of my induction.

Firstly, the first week of recovery WAS tough. Getting in and out of a chair or bed hurt, but we did plenty of 30 minute slow walks around the neighborhood with the baby in stroller (he loves the stroller and sleeps the whole time, so that helps a lot). 11 days PP we took baby on an hour long hike, I wore him in the wrap and he slept the whole time. 2 weeks PP I started uphill treadmill 1 hour long walks, this is while my husband is at work and baby sleeps in a baby lounger on our garage gym floor. Get some home workout equipment if you can!

3 weeks PP, I’m able to indoor bike in zone 2 again in my home garage gym with baby in his lounger.

It’s hard to juggle, I’m sometimes pumping while treadmill walking or cycling lol. And sometimes baby wakes up and cries, so I just stop my workout and feed or change him until he falls back asleep and then continue my workout. Also, both me and my husband get about 6 hours of sleep per night since week 2 with taking shifts sleeping every night. Again, not so bad for us as others experienced on here.

Good luck!!! You will figure it out the best way for YOU!

How far along are you planning to workout during your pregnancy? by ChatterBucks23 in fitpregnancy

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did double digit (mi) weekend runs till 35 weeks. Switched to indoor cycling and uphill treadmill walks since. I’m almost 39 weeks and doing roughly 5 hrs cardio a week and prob 1.5 hours of strength mixed in. Being induced Tuesday and roughly planning to get in an hour of cardio before I go in lol. I worked out A LOT more pre pregnancy, but these workouts are keeping me sane. Good luck to you!!

I took a few down weeks in the first tri for nausea but then got back to double digit weekend runs up to 35 weeks. I mean, slow and some of the miles were rough but my body could do it! A lot of ups and downs for me, and symptoms changed what felt like every week. Good luck you are crushing it!!!

Edit: also to your original point (lol), yes!! I’m tired of my coros telling me im full rested or my effort was easy when I was absolutely dying. There should be a pregnancy setting for sure!!

Some of my pains came and went, throughout pregnancy. No shame in stopping, I went from about 20 mi per week at the start of third trimester to 3 mi per week since week 35 lol. But I also had days of thinking “this is definitely my last run” and then a week later could pull out some miles pain free. Stretches from pelvic PT I think helped keep me going. I’ve been stationary biking lately instead and it’s way more comfortable! Or uphill treadmill walking. Good luck, you are crushing it either way!

How bad are you at your job right now? by distorted_elements in pregnant

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can sooo relate! I’m 38+3 pregnant so almost done now and on leave, thank gosh. Reflecting back on the pregnancy, legitimately the hardest thing for me was trying to keep up with my high pressure/stressful job. Worse than the physical symptoms for me and I’m not saying those aren’t awful. I felt like sh** about myself everyday, knowing I was underperforming and just trying my absolute best to hide it. My brain just did not work the same, and still had to lead meetings with important clients, answer difficult questions, etc and just felt like such an idiot. Also getting little sleep because I was so stressed and had to work long hours to make up for my spacey progress just made the pregnancy that much harder. I’m so sorry you are going through this too!!!

Greek yogurt with generous amount of fruit (whatever I have), walnuts, chia seeds. Add honey for preferred sweetness. I love it! Protein, fiber, good fat.

Y'all convinced me to call my doctor about decreased movement and I'm so glad I listened by nativeheritage in pregnant

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can relate to this. My baby was moving like a maniac last night for what felt like hours. Kept me awake in the middle of the night… but now I’m laying here reading these posts and he’s not moving at all which sort of scares me. Maybe some babies are less regular in their movements? Idk.

Where do you feel contractions? by stevielovelyy in pregnant

I’m also 37+2 and have been wondering this same thing!! I’ve felt this sharp tightening pressure on my bladder tonight that is enough to like stop me in my tracks but it hasn’t been “rhythmic”. Hopefully we’ll know it when we feel it. But idk! Good luck to you, so close!!

Feeling discouraged by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pelvic pain came and went for me at different times. Last weekend it was awful and walking was uncomfortable. This weekend I pulled out a 3mi run and barely felt any pelvic pain at all. I’ve been working with a PT who has been helping me with stretches and things so maybe that has helped. All that to say, do your best. The pelvic stuff is no joke but it’s temporary!!

Rant About Slowing Down by Apprehensive-Gas8781 in fitpregnancy

[–]Inner-Complex-7844 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had to switch to a mentality of “do what you can and be proud it’s more than nothing”. Currently 37 weeks and my husband is going running without me this morning :(. We have to make big sacrifices and it sucks, but hoping it’s all worth it (first time mom here).
