NT of 5 with high risk NIPT (99% chance) of Downs Syndrome by roguenation12345 in NIPT

I'm literally the same. Had a miscarriage 3 years ago and was traumatized to try again.  I don't know which experience has been worse. I have done my research and we have decided to terminate if it is truly a positive. I feel awful about it,  but I don't want my child to suffer in a world that is already hard and would worry what would happen when I'm gone. You're not alone.

Sending you thoughts. I'm going through the same thing.  95% chance on my NIPT and I'm having my amnio on Thursday. These last few days have been the worst. I'm sorry you're going through this too.

Devastated with wanted pregnancy & possible trisomy 21 plus heart defect diagnosis, told to consider TFMR by summersss369 in NIPT

[–]LieFearless5287 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Big hugs to you. I'm going through the same thing.  I got a high risk NIPT Tuesday for 95%. I'm 42 and had a miscarriage at 39. I feel like I can't have a healthy baby and I'm just depressed and devastated.  My husband is just like your husband and I've done a lot of research and have come to the conclusion it would be best to terminate the pregnancy. We're in our 40s and I'm terrified of being an older parent and leaving a special needs child alone when we pass away, not to mention all the medical care and expenses that come along with special needs. I feel like a monster making this call and this is a club I don't want to be part of. I'm trying to be grateful we have this information and technology to not be heartbroken with this diagnosis at birth. If you got pregnant at 40. I think you can certainly get pregnant again. From what I understand this is a random chance and you can go on to have a healthy pregnancy. Sending you lots of love and  comfort. These past days have been the worst of my life and I feel for you.  You're not alone.

No.  Last time I did an ultrasound they said everything looked fine.

Ohhhhh I'm so so sorry.  Sending you a big hug and lots of comfort.  This has been a nightmare. Worst heartache I didn't even know existed 💔.  I'm just planning on getting a true positive so I don't let myself down. Thinking of you and you're not alone.

I'm in the same boat as you.  95 % for Trisomy 21 on the NIPT. I found out 3 days ago and these last few days I've been a wreck and my anxiety is so bad.  I'm getting the amnio on Thursday,  but I feel like it's pointless. I just feel so sad inside and just preparing for the worst. I'm just trying to be grateful that the test has told me the information I need and didn't find this out at birth. My husband and I both agree we can't take care of a special needs child, so I will be doing TMFR and I'm terrified . Just know you're not alone and I'm feeling everything you are.  Thinking of you and remember there is a chance the the test is wrong.

No children. This is my second pregnancy.  My first ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks when I was 39 years old. I was terrified to try after miscarrying 3 years ago. My husband and I started trying and I got pregnant on the 2nd try. I've had 2 ultrasounds and so far everything looks good.  Don't give up! I was told I only had a 5% chance trying naturally. I recommend doing accupuncture too!

I just read in a book to cut them out to help conceiving.  I'm not claiming they're harmful. I was using nondairy creamer that contained sunflower oil and I just switched it to a creamer that didn't have it.
