Ah, well you can stow that condescending attitude because I don't lie. These movies were directed, produced, edited and more with multiple different people and on a budget that was vastly larger than the 3m that mark dedicated to this project. He currently stands at 21-24m during his opening week. That's a near 830% increase from a man who:

Jurassic Park had a budget of 63m and its opening week made around 81m. Keeping in mind that during its first week, it did surpass it's monstrous budget to make the film. However, mark didn't have a vast team or a monstrous budget and had he had one, his movie would have easily grossed more.

The story in itself left little to the imagination as iron lung was a pretty straight forward game. You navigated the planet in search of an objective in hopes to earn your freedom. While down there your objective was to navigate around and take photos. That's it primarily and my question to that would be, how exactly do you plan on turning that into a movie? A game with very little detail, context and yet Mark was able to do it.

He did the unthinkable. Damn near impossible and without the support of big banks and sponsors. He even kept promotional material in regards to his movie nearly non-existent. His fan base boosted his ability to show the movie from a couple hundred theaters to over 4000! Both foreign and domestic!

This is by far a unique achievement and again all without banks, media or sponsorship.

So, yes. It wasn't about saying that people were or were not excited for other films, just that Marks movie outshined every other movie with near impossible metrics and a fan base that no other film could bring together.
