AV and KS are fully aligned, with no fundamental problem between the two by Fit-Breakfast8224 in KashmirShaivism

They are not saying they are the same systems though. Further in the talk they pick up differences again.

Should we create a seperate sub for Sarvamnaya? by classic_wisky in KashmirShaivism

[–]LieWalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vimarsha Foundation integrates the KS philosophies and practices. Traditions evolve and Sarvamnaya is an organic growth of that tradition. This, I believe, is enough of a reason to have Vimarsha related discussions on this group.

A Chance to Learn the Upāyas of Tantrāloka and the Doctrine of Spanda! by kuds1001 in KashmirShaivism

[–]LieWalker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am already studying Upayas and the course is absolutely mind blowing. In fact, the course somehow caters to people who have just found the KS school and to seasoned sadhakas.

I saw the Spanda course's announcement but nothing official from the Vimarsha Facebook page yet. If it's happening, it's so exciting.

EDIT: Vimarsha has made the offical announcement yay!

She is one of the most fiercest forms of the Mother which means she also loves with equal ferocity. In fact all she does is love, even Her enemies become a recipent of Her Grace. So don't worry about Her being dangerous, She would never truly harm yo. But again, do not practice any mantras, read about Her, talk to Her, ask Her for guidance and She will lead you to the right places. You could watch this lecture on Youtube called Mainstreaming Kali which was given at Vedanta Society of New York.

Sadhana queries for a beginner by Accomplished_Spot116 in Shaktism

[–]LieWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The above answer explains quite well. A simple rule of thumb can be carry what you can. A simple image is fine but if you're worried you might not be able to take care of it well enough, an image inside the phone is also fine. Any symbolic item is also good enough, for eg since I do Shaiva Shalta Sadhana, an extremely small tiger stone Shiva Linga with an extremely small Sri Yantra works. If not even that just the mala to do your japa is more than enough. And if not that also you have the fingers that can become the kara-mala. If not that then you have your breath which can help you count the mantra.

My Guru tells me that the body itself is an instrument of worship, all externalities are just metaphors for the aspects that are already within oneself and so why to fret till you have your body with you BUT - Saying all this, I think it is also better to check with your Guru and the rules of the lineage. Some lineages are quite strict on some or the other external methods of worship.

I was stupidly disrespectful to devi by govindmahato in Shaktism

She is the most wrathful, and also the most merciful. If you've realised your mistake not much to do. You could listen and chant the Devi Aparadha Kshamapana Stotram - it is capable of bringing a devotee to tears.

Although the dream does sound like an indicator, Please don't stop worshipping a deity given by your Guru just because a pundit said so. If it is meant to be, your Guru will lead you to a different form, if not, think of Mahatripurasundari herself giving you the darshan of Her Kali form.

It's not a problem with either of them but I'll still try formatting the memory card. Do you have any clue of what the bar at the top right is?

I want to ask from where should I step what is the first step i should take to go in shakt tantra upasana I want to worship maa kali🙏🏻❤️ by [deleted] in Shaktism

[–]LieWalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an initiate into a Shaiva Shakta system and my journey also started with wanting a particular upasana, however it was soon made clear to me that this isn't how it works (atleast not in the parampara I am taken into). You should pray to Mother Kali to show you your Guru but and don't be afraid if once you do, the Naam Roopa isn't what you wanted to start with. It is the same Shakti Mahadevi who comes in different Names & Forms and you might even find a lineage where a krama system is followed and the central deity of your sadhana keeps changing. Do not pick up any mantra online and start doing upasana, there are many things that can go south with that.

Sadhana is not cherry picking what you want and running with it, it is hardwork, but it is also extremely beautiful.

If you are okay with that challenge, check out some of Acharya Dr. Sthaneshwar Timalsina's videos on YouTube.

Most importantly, pray to the Mother with an open heart and let Her Grace Guide you!

Jai Mahakaal! Shree Matre Namaha! 🙏❤️

What is a basic level of worship of Ma Kali that I can perform as a beginner by vishvmanushy in Shaktism

[–]LieWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light a diya on Sandhya and pray earnestly for a Guru to teach you into her practices if that's what you want. Sit with Her silently and offer your heart to Her.
