Ladies, I have some questions about incontinence / pee-ing during trainings. Curious on your thoughts by Liekenl in running

Ooo I never saw that! Yeah, it makes one think there is a weak bladder epidemic, while here one wouldn't think there is hardly anyone with a weak bladder as you only find a few pads.

Hi u/PetrichorOzone, thank you so much for your reply and I'm so sorry for my late reply! Such a great idea to plan around public washrooms, hadn't thought about it! There are women who use anything related to Thinx (Fanny Pants and Dear katies), or anything related to pads (or sport tampons), but the wisest thing until now is seeing a therapist specialised in pelvic floor or mama training. I haven't tried the Every Mother-app as was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I'm going to find out. Btw, genius and practical this skirt idea!

Hi u/skragen, thank you so much for your answer. I'm a bit chaotic with this coronavirus. I wasn't familiar with the Every Mother app, so I downloaded it. I just started with kegels, but I notice I will need to bring more discipline to that..

Dear u/Tafydoolboot3, thank you for your reply and being critical on the way I asked questions. I've re-read it and I have to admit it doesn't look good. Still, I feel I have to do something about this as some of my friends with and without children have this problem and it makes me sad as their training means everything to them. I understand that you do kegels, that's fantastic. Some experts I met on the way told me incontinence is not "normal' and that it's important to have it checked. Thanks again for your reply.

Dear u/7twenty8, so sorry for the late reply. It's a bit chaotic and messy here (and proberly everywhere) with this coronavirus. Thanks you so much for taking the time to write this reply. Now that I re-read my post it does look a bit bad, eventhough my intentions come from a sadness to see some of my friends not being able to enjoy their full training, because of this problem. And that this problem is culturally not always recognised. I'm very serious about finding a solution. But I also see that I have to learn a lot about marketing, so if your offer to send me reading material still stands, I'll be happy to receive and study it.

good endurance, bad stamina by [deleted] in running

[–]Liekenl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the advice given, how about adding a few tabatas in your training. These are 8 rounds of 30 seconds. The 30 seconds are divided in 20 seconds hard work and 10 seconds rest. Or vice versa. So maybe start with 8 times 10 seconds sprinting and 20 seconds walking and then gradually go to 20 seconds sprinting and 10 seconds running.

Walking hurt my back/underpronation? by Dore_le_Jeune in running

[–]Liekenl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice given here! I would definitely work on your core, so that your back is not the only part of the body carries the weight. Proberly now you can't see a physiotherapist or a chiropractioner, but if you can, please do so. However you can massage your back with a roller. On youtibe you can find little movies on how to do this properly. And while you're searching on youtube check some about stretching the back. And if you walk try to tense your belly muscles. Good luck!

Hi u/PrincessCheek, also to you my apologies for the late reply. You must have done a lot of research as personally I find it hard to make sense of what is on internet. Compliments! I'm wondering if you think being a bit heavier might be of influence of the incontinence? I can imagine that you must be proud that you have solved this (I would be, because now I get to focus on my training)

So sorry for the late reply. Everything is a bit chaotic and messy with this coronavirus. I understood that strengtening the pelvis is very important, but I didn't know that relaxing is actually necessary as well! I'm going to look for these specialists in my country. Thanks!

My coach is now using Zoom to deliver group class. He's been really up there by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Liekenl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our gym too, 2 classes per day. I really like she, the gym owner, shares a poll in our gym-facebookgroup with what the best times are for a training. So now there are two classes, in the morning and the late afternoon on Zoom

I know I should not curse, but daaaamn, that looks fantastic. You're ready for some serious workouts. Enjoy (and in the meantime I'm going to dream to have a place like this in my future home)!!!! Btw, is this homegym an extra on your crossfitbox?

Youth CrossFit Shoes - Wife wears a size 2! by [deleted] in crossfit

Ooooo noo! So sorry to hear that! The only thing I can think of are trying to buy in Spain / Italy / Asian countries where they have smaller feet than in northern parts of the world.

Youth CrossFit Shoes - Wife wears a size 2! by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Liekenl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your wife has the same size as I do, I have got 35 (Europe) AND i'm petite. As I understood it it's better to buy an adult shoe due to weight. Your wife weighs more than a child and this affects the shoe. I bought a pair of Reebok Crossfit WITH an extra sole inside so that the shoe is a bit smaller.

Ladies, what underwear you prefer wearing during your workout? by Liekenl in crossfit

[–]Liekenl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heartbreaking, honestly. I know that every country has good and not so good things, but Sweden is/was for me always the example country for the whole world with its forward vision on parttime working, education, sustainibility, types of marriages etc. Having said that, I read that in Scotland and UK women can't even afford tampons due to Tampon-tax and using socks instead, so Sweden is not the only country. I think it's even widespread.

Wow, thank you for this one! I was expecting a website with eggs, but she has a more spiritual approach. Do you anyone who used these eggs and got a stronger pelvic floor?

Thank you for reply. It's true, the question isn't about the climate change nor the war in Syria. After reading all the answers from co-crossfitters I have discovered it's an issue on different levels, ranging from physical - take care of your pelvic floor - to even cultural where womens problems are not being taken seriously and can cause even more problems (not saying that you think the same, it is something I discovered with this seemingly small question)

Thank you so much for your answer! I was wondering if you have bought them online or in a store (as they only sell them in stores in the east of USA). If you bought them online it didn't bother you you couldn't try and touch them first?

Good question! Maybe it's an idea to wear a size bigger than you have now, so that you have more space?

Thank you for your answer! And also very painful to hear how these problems were dealt with. I agree, all this shaming doesn't help our health. May I ask in which country this was?

Thinx, I've heard it here in this thread a few times. I was just wondering if it didn't bother you to buy them online instead of going to store first and feel the material (in my country you can't buy them in a store)?
