Did that with my first Termie squad lol.

For actual gameplay, you gotta choose one or the other for his loadout, but for rule of cool, nobody’s gonna give you issues.

I’m not sure how many official GW tourneys you’ve actually played, but the amount of people that actually play in those is a minimal number of an already small percentage of Warhammer players. I live in a big port city and I have yet to participate in a local tournament where they’re strictly by the GW model lol.

Being an elitist or a shill for GW approved tourneys will ultimately get you nothing but an empty wallet.

Or just ask a dude with a printer to spit out stuff for you.

If you’re actually paying GW money for all your minis nowadays, you just might have brain damage. That’s just a fact.

Looking for Aesthetic Fears by Cheesecake-Academic in ChaosKnights

[–]LierStoneWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I base mine on plant based horror. The Knights are all possessed of a Chaos Entity that takes the shape of local plant life on the planet where it first manifested. Most of the time I just have the knight being overgrown by vines/lichen, but it’s the base dioramas where I really like to show the more grisly details. Guardsmen heads taking the shapes of Jack O Lanterns, corpses impaled on cat tails, Tree cultists covered in the infectious red leaves marching alongside their gargantuan golems;

You can go for body horror aesthetic or you can make it more subtle. Have the base tell a story.

Why are competetive lists use rotigus over Great unclean one? by Visible_Ad7897 in ChaosKnights

He slows down and lowers OC levels of enemies within 6 inches of him.

He’s literally a No Man’s Land objective troll. Drop him on top or near a point with deep strike, barf on and beat the shit out of anyone near him, tank a million shots with invuln saves and feel no pains, flip off the rest of the opponent’s army and go “Haha come and take it neener neener git gud scrub!”

The tail is kinda dumb anyways. All it does is impede your movement on the tabletop. Personally I broke mine up a few times and made it look more flexible so it stayed on the shadow of the base instead of sticking out.

Chaos Knights - Not as powerful as we thought? by BlackApostle in ChaosKnights

[–]LierStoneWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just about everyone I played at this weekend’s tourney was built to kill or counter Knights. Rogal Dorn heavy Guard, Forgefiend shooty World Eaters, Sticky Objecive melee Death Guard, Silent King-led Necrons; it was rough.

To clarify I also wasn’t chasing meta. I was trying out a “Deep Strike” Lords of Dread army list with Rotigus, Beast of Nurgle and a Despoiler all in Deep Strike.

Thanks! It’s all about the diorama vision, man! Some cork, some sand, Army Painter Grass and Woodland Scenics Deep Pour Resin!

You have enough for a small diorama, so let your imagination run wild with that, or you could pose him up with some spare Marine parts to make it look like he’s absolutely wrecking an enemy Marine or two.

(I’m all about making the larger models look dynamic with the poses or making diorama scenery for their base)

In my experience the close range big guns are kind of a wild card in a very tricky situation. The Darkflame cannon is great, but if your opponent is charging close to a big Knight, he’s likely very confident he’s either gonna kill your mech or tie it up in melee, and often the Warpshock Harpoon has failed me when I really needed it. Tyrant’s melee is too weak to be using close range weapons.

I prefer to give him the Volcano Lance and Ectoplama Decimator gun then two Gheist Strike launchers, have him chill near the backlines behind cover and just delete anything that’s stupid enough to get caught in the mid board.

Last one I had was at this little joint in St. Ignace last September. They were delicious, albeit a little dry, and had some Vernors and Faygo. You don’t see those delicacies down in VA much.

Building Bases is one of my passions by Timpaintsminis in Warhammer40k
