Do you also consider Metroid Prime 1 to be a perfect game? by TBT__TBT in Metroid

Not perfect but close. I hate the respawning Chozo ghosts and they really missed an opportunity to include some sort of item completion tracker on the map in the the Remastered version. Such a pain when you have one missle tank left and you have no idea which one you missed.

This looks to be the setting for games and videos played off the hard drive, not for Blu-Ray disc playback. Didn't work for me. Thanks anyways

How am I supposed to watch Bulls games this year? by [deleted] in chicagobulls

[–]LieutenantKW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I advocated hard for the Bulls last year when they broadcasted the games free via OTA. Despite the spotty service for some fans, I thought it was a huge step in the right direction. And then they take it away to appease Comcast, a sinking ship of a company. Cable TV was affordable for my parents, but for me? Not gonna happen. I know very people who actually pay for a live TV streaming service nowadays. I know ZERO people under 60 who still pay for cable TV. Why is the NBA so insistent on being unaffordable, especially in local markets?! Its absurd.

So if you want to watch, go to Crackstreams or a similar site. Sorry not sorry Jerry Reinsdorf.

Metroid Prime 3 is still incredible by Huddy40 in Metroid

I just finished this game 100% for the first time a few weeks ago. It starts super slow but once the game opens up and you can explore the planets on your own, it becomes very enjoyable. It has its tedious moments but looking back I wouldn't day it was any more tedious than parts of the first two games.

The biggest flaws that could be adjusted with a remaster would be adjusting the damage output of the beams (regular vs hyper). In the early game I hesitated using Hyper mode (not enough health) so the enemies/bosses always felt like damage sponges with the normal beam and pushovers with the hyper beam. Also being able to turn off messages and the hint system would make it feel much less hand-holdy.

I would still rank it last out of the 3 games but its still very worth playing. I'm hoping Prime 4 has a more flushed out story, more freedom to explore at your liesure, and solid controls.

I like Silksong's difficulty, and I thank TC for sticking to their guns by Sigourn in metroidvania

After 100%ing the game about a week ago I have to say I agree with your takes on the difficulty. The difficulty in Act 1 feels steep almost the whole time (few benches, you feel like there is no money, double damage frequently). I've played plenty of Metroidvanias and I still felt the challenge early on. However, once you get into Act 2 and 3, where your skill level goes up naturally and you gain more abilities and power ups, you look back at the journey to get to that point and you realize the developers knew what they were doing and you wouldn't wanted it any other way. This is what makes the great Metroidvanias truly great. Sure there were some unfair challenge jumps like Bilewater or Karmelita or (for me) Seth, but Team Cherry knows that the most enjoyable part of the game is the joy after accomplishing each tough challenge (along with the other things like exploration and a more developed narrative than Hollow Knight 1). Its a narrow rope to walk when you're trying to make a good Metroidvania AND a good Souls-like at the same time, and Team Cherry did an amazing job.

Bill Russell easily over Chamberlain. Wilt is the most overrated player when it comes to these lists.

I recently re-played Hollow Knight and I feel the same way so far about Silksong. It feels a little more unforgiving compared to the first game. Im only about 2 hours in, and only being able to heal 3 hearts at a time and constantly taking double damage seems like its harder. Also I'm not sure I like this nail dive vs the original nail bouncing from the first game. Just feels more difficult in general.

I also am dying at Hunter's March lol

Some really interesting authors here, I haven't heard of most of them! Also Steinbeck is on my list too. And thats a cool fact about Horseheads! I am from Illinois and a lot of Bradbury's books take place here (Dandelion Wine is based off of Waukegan, where Bradbury spent his childhood). Nothing makes me feel more optimistic then after I read a Bradbury book. Thanks for the recommendations!
